I see Mowatt, has joined

List of not good enough now.

I don't get this attitute towards players who Cellino hasn't signed

Deadwood....I think most comments on here have been short sighted looking at the current situation rather than the future. We are not far away from the end of the season when one would expect quite a big change in playing staff. If we are to believe Mr Cellino then next season is a big push for promotion. For that to happen one would expect a minimum of four quality signings that can immediately influence the starting eleven and drastically improve results. Going forwards is how we should judge whether a player is deadwood or not. Will he be needed for next seasons promotion success and will be be needed for premier league consolidation the season after.

Something to offer :
Silvestri
Bellusci
Cooper
Taylor
Sloth
Antenucci
bamba

Undecided
Ngoni
Cani

deadwood :
Adryan
Del Fabio
Berardi
Ajose
Montenegro
Benedicic
Doukara
Bianchi
Sharp

At the end of the season I would move on

Morison and Sharp

Out them two and bring in (using anything we get for them and as much money as he can throw at the squad from what remains of the McCormack cash or elsewhere) a winger, a battering ram style centre forward that can score goals, not just run the channels and trap a ball, and a midfield player with guile.

Three quality players would transform this squad and put us in the rare position of being fancied next season. Four of similar quality and we could be really rocking.

(If that's to vague for some, tough. That's what we need)

Like Kebablegs I reckon we're not far off.

Apart from Ajose whose wages will be part funded right now, the others are a complete waste of a wage....deadwood.

-------------------------------------------

According to Redfern after the game on Saturday the players you listed are far from deadwood..... but of course you know better ................

VOF

What's it got to do with him eh, eh...? What sort of coaching badges and experience as he got compared to some on here...?

VOF, what did Redfearn say about the players I listed and please share the link with us.

Jonty .............. I've no link, it was on the radio. Whilst I was driving away from Elland Road I didn't have time, or the legal ability, to start taping the interview on BBC Radio Leeds.

Redfern mentioned Montenegro, Bendcicicici and Del Fabro specifically and praised their attitude and efforts and that they're an asset (words to that effect) .......... certainly didn't portray them as deadwood wastes of money.

Some players will be released, some will be retained this summer - just let the coach decide it, it's what he's paid for.

But the coach won't decide, someone else will.

So by that logic, that someone else is currently picking our winning side?!?!?! You can't have it both ways.

I get the impression that NR is getting his say on matters when it comes to the team right now.

Ok lets see.

The loan players, with the exception of Bamba none of these players are getting anywhere near hee first team, and have not all season, they are total deadwood, just sitting there eating up wages while contributing nothing at all. Cani and N'Goyi are new so probably dont fit into that yet, however as N'Goyi is supposed to be injured then I really dont see him as anything other than deadwood. None near the team, none will be here next year. Total Deadwood.

Deadwood rating pretty much 5/5 across the board

Beradi - Has been a total liability. As soon as Byram was fit he was dropped. Rather than play him when Byram returned we decided it was a better idea not to sell a centreback currently on loan to Rotherham to them and play him there.

In the summer one of two things will happen, we will either get that right midfielder we all crave and Byram will return to rightback, or we will look for a rightback better than Wootton. Either way, this guy is deadwood sucking up wages for being useless.

Deadwood Rating 5/5

Bianchi/Sloth - In a five man midfield that consists of one rightback and four central midfielders these guys cant get a look in. In fact the club brought in yet another central midfield player (who went and got himself injured). Where does that leave them? further down the order thats where.

Now while these guys have featured I'm still putting them on the deadwood scales. In the summer we are going to need wide players, if we sign two of these and start playing them and using them as an option where does that leave these guys?. We need wide players and will hopefully get them. That leaves six central midfielders battling it out for 2 maybe 3 places in the centre of midfield.

Mowatt, Cook, Austin and Murphy in that situation would be all ahead of them, we also brought in a defensive midfielder rather than have Bianchi do that again (probably cause he was so awful at it)

Sloth has more to offer than Bianchi so might still be useful.

Deadwood rating Sloth 3/5 Bianchi 5/5

Sharp/Doukara. - Sharp has shown he is past it. As much as I wish it was not true as I was excited about his signing but he offers very little and has found himself down the order, he is behind Ant, Morrison and now, presumably Cani.

Douk is a little different, now out of the side and even behind Sharp yet he started well. Door should not be closed to him completely but the signing of Cani shows that the boss is looking to bring in strikers and he seems to be getting frozen out. However I think out of all the signings made he probably has the best shot of getting him self back into contention

Sharp 4/5 Douk 2/5
