Are we all mugs? Part One: Immigration

Not long ago the bankers brought this country to it's knees and since then we've had to endure an increasing amount of austerity. We bailed out the banks and they still continue to collect large bonuses, print billions of pounds to share amongst the richest 10% and implore their richest customers to participate in their tax avoidance schemes. Not to mention all the illegal activity that's gone unpunished.

During this time; MPs have given themselves a lovely pay rise, whilst salaries in the public sector go in the opposite direction. MPs still continue to abuse expenses, despite the outrage that was expressed the last time.

Yet what are we angry about? Immigration, Muslims and poor people at the bottom of the ladder. It's actually quite pathetic that we're that easily manipulated.

You say 'strain' as if they don't deserve anything back after eveything theyve done.

No, that is not my intention. You have interpreted my statement incorrectly

Which word would you use, Sakho?

The words most commonly used are 'burden', 'strain', 'drain', etc., but when you try to think of one that doesn't imply 'fcking nuisance', it's not easy to think of one,off the top of your head.

Why are you all so concerned about the poor and vulnerable. When the real issue is the rich and powerful.

Vodafone owed 6bn in tax, boots owes 1.2bn in tax. There are corporations out there that are avoiding tax that if paid would solve all the austerity cuts.

Who allows them to get away with it? Our government.

Who tries to hide it? Our media, which is owed by some of the biggest tax avoiders, Murdoch.

Lets forget about immigration and benifits these are very small issues. Let look at the corruption and tax that is avoided, legally.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the truth of the situation.

People allow themselves to be too easily distracted by the small fry.

If we executed every single benefits claimant in Britain that wouldn't actually help us all that much...

If we stopped people and coorporations avoiding tax we could actually solve a lot of our problems (even without removing all the benefits claimants)

Its like we are all worrying about a slow drip of water that is getting into one side of the boat whilst ignoring the car sized hole on the other end of the boat that has gallons of water gushing in!!

Howdy buddy.

Let us look at the rich corrupt guys, tax dodgers, benefit cheats and the possibility that too much immigration may be counter productive,if not controlled.

Heya fella

Priorities!

Let's concentrate on the one that will make a huge difference first, then work on the window dressing around it.

We may well find that with so much more money available the other issues die down in the problems they cause.

Not a CND man,but if we got rid of Trident,we would release a few quid for the country.

I have worked in Jobcentres,so that is why dole cheating is on my radar, even though there are bigger fish to fry.
Also interviewing people who do not speak English, coming here to demand benefit's and with an attitude that frankly stinks.
I have also interviewed folk from E Europe, who are polite, well spoken, hardworking, and far more employable than most locals. Not sure if that helps us or not,as locals will then be left on the scrap heap.
