A long way to go yet !

A very lackluster performance tonight, the Brewers just did not turn up.
The first Saturday/ Tuesday in a while on a very boggy pitch.
So far we have had a great run of results, But all good things come to an end at some point.
It's a very good reminder to the fans, that we have a long way to go yet !
Maybe we need to put the P word out of our minds for a while .

Not the end of the world , if we bounce back on Saturday.

A bad day at the office Mr JFH.
But I am sure JFH will demand a reaction.

Yeah, so much for scoring more than 1 goal/game - they couldn't even muster a single shot on target tonight!

Let's hope they get back to winning ways on Saturday (and Luton lose to Accy).

I think the Brewers will get revenge on Accrington in a few weeks, when they play us again at the Pirelli !

I just managed to get there in time.

It was an evening of poor passes, shocking ball control and wayward shots on goal. At least 50% of the team had a poor game.

After his Dagenham performance, El Khayati deserved a start. He didn't take his chance.

McGurk was poor. Bev never got started. Robbie Weir had an unusually poor game. Lucas looked lively but failed to deliver anything of note. Phil Edwards had a bad game distribution wise.

Lenihan had a decent game and the defence was pretty solid as usual.

The statistics don't lie. We had 11 (bad) shots and none remotely troubled their 'keeper. He had an easy night.

I think that Accrington did what I have seen us do many, many times in recent years. They went 1-0 up and they parked the bus. They were extremely well organised as a unit and we couldn't break them down. It felt like we were camped in their half for the whole of the second half.

We are allowed a bad day at the office. It hasn't remotely dented my confidence. We are a good team. We will lose some more between now and the end of the season - and so will our promotion rivals. We have won some valuable points this season by doing exactly what Accrington did to us last night. Fair enough.

I did have 2 notable firsts last night.

1) I can't recall ever being at a league game with less than a thousand in attendance.

2) I have never been the only person going out at half time for a cigarette. The steward standing by the open gate said he has never known only 1 person having a half time cigarette.

Finally, in my own personal Brewers 'Promotion Fever' Predictor chart (which sees us get enough points for automatic promotion), I had us down to lose to Dagenham and to draw with Accrington. Therefore folks, we are 2 points in credit.

Reality check maybe , shame as we would have opened up , a six point lead at the top with a win . 3pts on saturday though will steady the ship !!
