Chris Wood

Gone to Ipswich Town on loan for rest of season.

Lads proven in scoring goals in the championship and more than capable of playing the one up top target man.

We signed an Albanian bean pole who cannot oust Steve Morison who has not scored for us since March 2013!

Missed out again. Obviously Wood may prefer to play for a side pushing for promotion but i doubt we gave him an option.

Not quite that simple Wetherby. He would earn the same money regardless of which club he went to so it would come down to choice.

Leeds or Ipswich. Positives for both but clearly one has far more history and stature. Will he even get in the Ipswich side? Murphy, McGoldrick and Sears doing a good job. I am sure his parent club would envisage him playing games, gaining experience as hes only young still. He would play more game time for Leeds.

Great point Eric

Surely we should be able to compete with Ipswich, financially especially given our resources.

I thought most people who had any idea knew we need wide players?

we do need wide players, but anyone who knows Leeds United would see that we are playing 4-5-1 and getting points with a striker who cannot score goals. If we could have brought in a better target man who scored a few we might well finish top half. As for wide players - you would need a minimum of 2 to change the formation and retain balance and then what if one of them got injured? Most clubs have 4 wingers never mind 0. Wingers and formation changes are for the close season now. Absolutely makes no sense to change from 4-5-1 now with only a few wins needed to retain championship status. The only reason NOT to bring in Wood would be to save money given we have nothing much to play for but id sooner have had him than Cani.

I think question is Kebab,

why can't anyone oust a striker who ain't / can't score?

What people keep forgetting is that we are under embargo and cannot spend more than £12k per week on a player

Chorley, what folk also forget is we might not have gone for either player for reasons other than Massimo Cellino. Perhaps our coach has asked for someone else in the summer....?

What's the big deal about him? His parent club don't want him and he's spent most his career so far out in loan.

Also, yes it does make a difference where the club is in the league, why would any player want to come to a team who are looking for a few points to secure survival, over a team going for promotion? Its a no brainer for him.

Lastly, we won't have even gone in for him anyway, so makes the whole thing a bit pointless.
