Will Evans serve a ban, yes or no?

I say no.

The more I look at the video, the more I think Evans didn't intentially spit at Cisse but I also believe Cisse's reacted the way he did only because he felt Evans had spat at him. if Evans hadn't of spat on the ground, chances are Cisse wouldn't of spat at him.

I can't see how you can ban one and not the other. Both will get done but Evans can count himself very unlucky

That pretty much sums it up for me...

I always thought Evans is too nice to a defender. If he actually did spit at Cisse, in a weird way it could be a step in the right direction. Next step will to channel that anger in to tackling harder or challenging for headers rather than spitting at the opponent.

He's denied it, which I assume means he has challenged the charge. He and the club must think they could get off with it.

Stuart Holden thinks he's too nice.

He is a bit too nice for a centre back, could certainly use a bit of Stam/Vidic/Keane about him....

OP

If he does get off with it, then most people will be very surprised. Very few people get off with an FA charge when they deny it.

Put it this way, had Cisse not spat back would people be demanding Evans be charged? I really don't think so. He spat on the floor. Yes that came after a scuffle with Cisse, but that doesn't alter the fact he didn't spit at (on) the player.

I think the FA have taken the easy route and charged the pair of them for fear or criticism. Surely the club would gave told him take it on the chin if they didn't think he had a case?

I think he will get done.

Nothing would have happened if Cisse hadn't spat at him as there was no incident to look at but the FA will charge him for fear of looking biased if they don't.

The club may have left the decision in Evans' hands, even if he might get done accepting that you spat at someone when you didn't is a lot to ask of someone.

I'd be tempted to fight the charge even if I was pretty sure I'd fail...

OP

Hopefully your ignorance on how the FA works has now been answered.
