Who is he fooling

Redfearn says Leeds have the best midfielders in the league . In my opinion that means we should be dominating every game but nothing could be further from the truth.Even against Blackpool on Saturday Blackpool were ahead on all the stats. So who is fooling who they look good on paper but that are not doing the business. Also the improvment started when Thompson arrived so where does that leave NR.I would like to see Gus Poyet being appointed for next season.u

Matters, although I watch just about every televised game and listen to many radio commentaries Eddie/Thom and Pope/Whelan, i.e., I confess that my opinions are limited to that, I agree with your comments. I would like to see Bianchi or even Bellusci played as that defensive midfielder in front of the defence. Perhaps the 4 in front of that would be Mowatt, Cook, Murphy and Taylor, with Murphy playing a little higher with Antenucci.

I welcome those that go on a regular basis, e.g., LIW, Gelderd, Pro and others (sorry, I don't lkeep track of all those that go regularly) to comment on whether they think that lineup could work or not. Obviously, against certain opposition and when there are injuries, adjustments will need to be made, but that is my suggested core of our midfield/attacke.

Yes i also listen to radio and watch highlights. I feel we definately need a defensive midfielder on there. In all our games it seems our midfield is running all over the place to close gaps and that's why we get overrun. A DM will provide cover and recycle energy for the team. Similar to the role Matic does for Chelsea.

"LUFC Ngoyi back on the sidelines

Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn says loan signing Granddi Ngoyi has suffered a reaction to the thigh strain that has kept him sidelined since he arrived at Elland Road in January.

Redfearn was hoping that Ngoyi would be part of the squad for the clash at Blackpool on Saturday after the midfielder came through his comeback game for the development squad last week.

Ngoyi has been sidelined with a thigh injury since arriving at Elland Road on loan from Italian side Palermo in January and he completed 88 minutes as they lost 4-2 at Crystal Palace.

The 26-year-old former French under-21 international was missing from the squad at Blackpool and Redfearn explained his absence after the game.

'He`s got a slight reaction to his thigh strain. So that is disappointing because obviously I would have liked to have a look at Granddi at some point," Redfearn told BBC Radio Leeds.

'We`ll obviously have to see how that settles down.'

Ngoyi has joined Leeds until the end of the summer with a view to making the deal permanent in the summer.

Leeds have seven games remaining this season and they now have a two week international break and Redfearn will be hoping to give the midfielder some first team time before the end of the season."

I'm in agreement with Shaun, and this mattersinprobe fella, I love him already, not literally though.

Our midfield have been dominated more than they've dominated any team, opposing teams can see they can get through our midfield cos of the gaps they leave open.

Last time I can honestly say we dominated our midfield was during the Sunderland match, a Prem team, and Mowatt, Cook and Byram weren't playing, that itself tells a story.

Taylor could well be a good find at LM but next season is when we're going to find that out. Byram does a good job at RM, but he's got a fair bit of catching up to do to be the player he was when he first started.

Like Cook and Mowatt, Byram has come back to the fold.

I agree with Pro in regards to Mowatt and Cook, I've always said it, I just can't see the impact Cook brings to the team.

Individually, they have potential with the right coach to bring;em along, but in a midfield unit together, doesn't seem to be working.

If we had the best midfield in championship, our defence wouldn't have to keep soaking up unnecessary and unwanted pressure that they have been doing; the continual pressure they have had to endure during most games is because we have big problems in midfield.

It's our defence and keeper that's been keeping us in matches.

If our midfield were getting it together, and knew how to feed our strikers then even the wandering nomad would've scored at least one goal by now, well, you'd like to think so anyway.

If we are going to push for promotion next season, we need big changes in midfield and 2 prolific strikers.

Berardi, Bambi, Bellusci, Taylor / Cooper in our back four, and Bianchi just in front. Bianchi is good at breaking down opposing attacks in midfield and just in front of the keepers area; he's a player who doesn't look for plaudits or play flash football, he just does his job well.

I'd also like to see at some stage,

Berardi.......Bamba.......Cooper......Taylor

...............Bellusci...............Bianchi..........

just to see how affective it could be.

It is so easy to be critical of the manager and of the way he sets the team up.
I guess that most of us on here know much more than Redders does, after all he has only been in football all of his adult life.
Should he play with wide men?
Well if he does he has to leave someone else out to accomodate them so what would our best system be?
I bet there will be many different answers to that one.

Bad coach(es) + bad results (relegation fight) = happy fans

Decent coach + decent results (mid table, more points than last year) = unhappy fans

Start of the season I backed MC, Hockaday, the new signings, the formation everything that was new, I embraced it and gave it a chance.

Some of the work that went on early on in the season is paying off now, the hard work that went in early whilst results weren't going our way, and whilst the 2nd half performances resembled those of amateur teams we are now seeing that we can hold leads, and defend with our backs to the wall.

Defending isn't just about the defenders...the midfield aren't the only players who can create chances, just like the strikers aren't the only players on the pitch who can score.

This is a team game, and at the moment our team is doing very well...we have improved on last season (even though we all had this season down as a transitional season) we are safe and we have a squad full of youngsters.

It is laughable that "fans" still find things to p1s5 and moan about.

Luvr when was the last game you attended?

Having attended every home game this season I think many if you are misguided.

The amount of effort that Mowatt and Murphy put in off the ball is exceptional. Both have grown from the players they were before and now, with confidence and experience, I think both would feature in the midfield of any team in this division.

For those of you criticising Cook. He's 17. He's not going to dominate games or be an individual who can put defences to the sword. Let him grow and with experience he will become a top midfielder.

Sloth, Bianchi and Austin are capable backup, probably with another midfielder coming in in the summer to replace Rudy.

Its funny everybody playing the blame game, because of the simple fact the player's we have in their right systems could be as good as the next, meaning we have some good player's but not the right player's for what Redder's has changed it to, and before that he was carrying on the diamond with player's brought in that might be able to play it and player's already here not being able to!..

So, a couple of lost managers and a system change leaves us with a team of mixed player's doing a bloody good job at keeping this team afloat!..

Right player's in replacing the right player's out at the end of this season and well, er, we could be on a winner!..

But the bulk of this team is good enough to do what has to be done!.

I remember we were all screaming for wingers with bmac in charge. He signs kebe and Stewart says them with 2 wingbacks!!!! We get literally walked through in midfield and hammered at Wednesday.

Ultimately redfearn had found a system that is getting results and given the position we were in he should be applauded for that. As a fan I'm happy.

I can also see that we have ridden our luck and whilst stats don't tell the whole story, the fact that every away game we have fewer shots and less Posession than the opposition... That we find ourselves applauding our new found resilience, last gasp defending and shot stopping ability of our keeper.

It's admirable but you whilst you might string a run together you won't get promoted doing that.

I see that we have some good foundations to build on, but we are still a fair way from turning ourselves into promotion contenders. Without austin we look lightweight in midfield, so like redders I'd like to have seen what n'goye could do.

Redfearn has found a system that works, however that system would be better if we could actually play wingers who are actual wingers and not full backs in disguise
