Upheaval at Elland Road: Quick Cellino reaction
I've had a quick chat with Massimo Cellino, so thought I'd add a quick note.
He says he will return to Leeds in the middle of April, ready to join the club at the end of his ban.

He claimed not to have been too involved in the falling out between Umbers and Child, because he's thousands of miles away and banned.

And he said he's not aware of any sale, unless it's been done without his knowledge (and he has resigned from the board obviously, but still).

And he thinks there will still be time to sort the contracts of Redfearn and the young guns. "There's no rush,' he said.

So there you go.

Thanks Stoopo, wonder what he had in mind when he wrote "Stranger things have happened."

Rumour is he might be back under the new owners if we are sold. Remember he has many contacts in finance and knows the club from the inside now.

Either that or he expects Cellino to get rid of Umbers when he returns and he will be asked back.

Waiting for my nephew to reply as he knows Matt. He might not be able to tell me though.

Stoopo

This is an interesting comment

"The final straw came when he was informed, by Umbers, that there would be no room for him in the directors' suite for the matches against Fulham or Blackpool"

Begs the question from Austin who from Leeds United actually went to these away grounds and was actually allowed into the suite, who was deemed more important, and perhaps why....?

Just a thought.

Sounds like Umbers didn't want Matt Childs to hear any certain chit chat.

Never liked Umbers, his face wreaks of dishonesty.

I heard yesterday that Child was potentially looking at being involved in a future takeover bid for reasons others have alluded to earlier.

I don't know Matt Child but I'm bemused at the change in people's attitude towards him literally within a few weeks. On his arrival he was derided as being a phone salesman and on his departure he's seen as a future saviour with his "contacts in private equity" and "knowing the club from the inside".

Umbers is clearly the child from Hell, and I don't particularly like the man one bit either, and Child is seen to be the hard done by individual.

I'm not suggesting anything untoward but perhaps Child, sensing the opportunity, resigned to fulfil bigger ambitions? Simply not getting a VIP seat at a couple of games isn't, in my opinion, reason enough to throw your toys out of the pram.

Stevie - if you go back to when he as appointed you will see that I stated he was a good guy with a love for the club. Local and was brought in to take on some of the day to day running of the club away from MC.

My nephew knows him professionally and had nothing but good words about him.

I do recall a few questioning his "experience" though

Wasn't quoting anyone specifically mate. Just the general theme at the time.

He didn't at the time.

He does now.
