Harry Kane

I get it...the guy is having a good season. He's young and he's English. All of these are positive attributes. However at the moment you can't watch any sports coverage without one pundit or another going way over the top about Harry Kane. We as a country do this all the time. The last player was Andros Townsend then he had a dip in form and he could barely make the first team for his club. I am sick of this over hyped coverage. I think at the very least we should give Kane the space in which he can develop without the crippling pressure that he is now under.

Sterling written off at 20. Dear god.

Anyway, back to Kane. The lad had scored something like 28 goals in total (haven't checked btw) and close to 20 in the EPL despite not playing until November. Frankly the boy deserves all the plaudits he gets.

He seems really level headed in interviews as well so hopefully the pressure doesn't get to him.

If by level headed you mean thick as pig excrement then agree with you.

But no, he does seem down to earth, time will tell whether he is as good as he looks this season, but I don't think he'll do a Lee Sharpe/David Bentley and just whizz his career away.

The most hyped player ever was Walcott. Rooney was major hyped and perhaps maybe didnt reach the 'potential best player in the world' levels of hype he had when he was younger he has been pretty much consistently been one of the top 2 players at United for the past 11 years. Rooney will go down as a United legend. Walcott and Wilshere however will certainly not for Arsenal.

I actually think they could both have been as good as they were hyped up to be, but alas injuries have done a very good job of ruining their careers.

When I hear Kane talk I can't help but think of some kind of David Walliams character.

Who cares what he sounds like, he's a class act on the football pitch. Walcott sounds quite intelligent and articulate when you hear him talk but acts like he doesn't have any brains when he's on the pitch half the time.

Sterling got double figures for goals last season and at 9 this season already will probably get that again. I find that impressive considering most wingers/AMs in the PL struggle to get 10+ a season.

Oh wait he is already on 10 for this season

he's got 6 in the PL, which is the same as Oscar or Ki of swansea, and fewer than chadli or eriksen.

he's a good player, and may go on to be a very good one, but the hype machine has gone slightly overboard on him.

That's league only I was talking about OVR in which he's probably above all those players, and he'll only improve. He's a lot younger than all those players too.

I hear on the basis of a good 2/3 of a season Kane is an inspiration to all english youngsters, yet those that saw him at several clubs on loan member thought he would even perform at 50% of the levels he is playing at.

I often wonder if being white has a lot to south the hype around Kane.
