Need Some Advice

I'm trying to buy some tickets for the Blackburn match next Saturday, and I have a few questions.

1) Which is better, east stand or west (I think I'd rather have a side on view of the action)?

2) Am I better off driving or getting the train/bus?

Thanks in advance for all the help.

I'm in!

East Stand Lower, central block, about 5 or 6 rows from pitch side.

Really psyched now.

Thanks for all your help, guys.

In terms of preferred view I'd ignore anything anyone says. Everybody has different preferences. I know some that prefer behind goal high, pitch side low, pitch side high. I've experienced all and I have to say pitch side low was great, felt right in with the action but I compromised when I got my season ticket years ago and went Kop front row. One of the main things I love, been close in with the action. I hate this high side view as for me you may as well watch it on TV.

Good luck in the East Stand if you're as tall as you're handle suggests. To say it was designed for seating the leg room is chronic!

Its academic now it seems, but I seem to remember the west stand having really narrow seats. Remember sitting next to a guy with tree trunk legs (oak 250 years old) who kept shouting ' get some blood on yer boots !'
His legs were touching me for the full 90 mins. Never forget it. Horrible. We won 4-2 I seem to remember against Southampton. Walcott played for them and Blake scored a beauty for us.
I'm rambling aren't I ?

TV is a better view than being at the ground in terms of ball tracking and then you get the replays.

Side view, high up cannot be beaten. You see all the player, all the work going in off the ball. When you are up in the upper stand you are really grateful for Lee Bowyer in your side.

Its always funny watching the south stand / kop getting excited when a through ball is put in and they think there is going to be a goal-scoring opportunity and your sat there and can see that its going straight to the gk.

Close to the goal is good for small parts of the game like corners, penalties, free kicks but you simply get an awful view from behind the goal. You have no concept of what is happening in the opposite half of the field whatsoever.

Kebab

Why bother going if it's just the same as on TV?

I'm 6'4" and my legs are quite thick.

But I'm used to cramming my legs into small spaces, and if they allow standing in the East Stand then I should be ok.

You won't be standing in the East Stand, it's a family area so they'll be strict on standing which is fair as kids won't be able to see.

"Why bother going if it's just the same as on TV?"

TV has not yet captured the atmosphere one experiences at games.

Fair enough, Pro.

Like I said though, I'm used to cramming myself into small spaces. If I struggle, then I'll just go for a walk at half time.
