The Liverpool Duo

Hopefully a few Liverpool fans will be alerted by the title of the article and give us their view on our two new loan signings.

Jack Dunn and Kevin Stewart have joined us on loan. I was looking at a few extremely well taken goals by Jack Dunn on You Tube. Furthermore, 3 goals in 5 games on loan at Cheltenham in January is a good return.

Good signings to bolster the squad and cover for injuries and suspensions over the busy Easter period. Cover for fatigue setting in at the end of a long season is another consideration. An excellent bit of business.

I don't get time to watch our lads much anymore but Dunn is very well thought of. Great news and hope they do very well for you.

Jimmy Floyd has only been our Manager a short time Anfied Rap but a few new players have arrived during that time. Generally speaking most have been given some time to settle in at the club before setting foot on the pitch. I expect that is time for them to adjust on a personal level and to get to know the other players and the style of football. It must be a fine balancing act to get that done and get some football out of them when there is limited time and so few games left.

I would have thought that Dunn or Johnstone (from Birmingham) would have been a good substitute last night. Johnstone was on the bench, Dunn was not.

The substitute striker that did get a run out on 81 minutes (Knowles) has been on loan at Kidderminster (6 games, 0 goals). He has not had much of an impact with us despite clearly being a talented footballer. He might turn out just to be a non-league striker. However, I am thinking that perhaps he is not a striker at all and might be better suited as an attacking midfielder.

Anyway, neither Dunn nor Johnstone played last night and there will be good reasons for that. I trust the decisions and judgement of our Manager who has taken us to the top of the table.

Hey Yous Guys,
Apparently his arrival was delayed by a slight injury, according to the Burton Mail:

However, he'll probably tear his hamstring within 5 minutes of stepping on the pitch, like all (well, most) of our other loanees have.

Yes, I have just read that Boston Brewer. I knew there would be a good reason why he wasn't on the bench.

We don't play formations and systems in league 2 Anfield Rap. Players just kick the ball and everyone runs after it.

Seriously though, we do have a system and a style and play good passing football. Jimmy Floyd tries different tactics and formations throughout games. One can see the subtle adjustments during games with players dropping deep, pushing wide, swapping positions and so on. We can accommodate any player in our team such is the flexibility with which we play.

Dunn looked excellent in the reserves but that's a different level of football

I hope JFH does well for you - always liked him

good luck

Well, young Stewart made his debut today and he was absolutely brilliant. Different class. Thanks for letting us take him on loan.
