"Underlying all of this, from day one, has been a tension between the foreign and English contingents at the club - or perhaps more accurately, between the staff of the Cellino era and the rest."
"Despite the impressive results, the club's hierarchy were frustrated that the new signings - Montenegro, Cani, Doukara et al - were not getting a chance in the side.
Whether or not this came direct from Cellino, who was banned (and in Miami), I can't say. But the frustrations of 'the board' were conveyed to the manager."
"And suddenly there was not only Salerno at training - who Redfearn always got on well with - but his 'assistant' as well, a young man named Andrea, who had previously worked in a shop in Miami before being brought to Leeds by Cellino.
What was the 23-year-old Frenchman doing at training? What was his background in football?"
"All these tensions boiled over with the Antenucci affair. To recap, chairman Andrew Umbers told Redfearn he was not to select the striker because he was two goals away from triggering a clause that would give him another year's contract.
Redfearn said he would go along with this, but only so long as he could be honest about the reasons for not picking the player. After all, his form had picked up and he'd scored in his last two games. But he was told he mustn't do that.
When Thompson and Redfearn arrived for work on the morning of Thursday April 2nd, Bellusci and Antenucci were laughing. That seemed strange, but the reason soon became clear when Thompson was handed a letter, signed by Nicola Salerno, informing him he had been suspended.
Redfearn later spoke to Antenucci. "I stuck up for you, Mirco, and my mate got suspended," he said. "Now you're laughing about it."
Clearly divides in the dressing room, entirely predictable when so many players brought in and there is a language divide.
I'm not Redfearn's biggest fan but he was more effective than other Cellino choices and knew English football and the workings of the club, but very very difficult to blame Redfearn for poor form when it's a completely unsupportive circus in the background.

Jonty, Liw and the others my question eluded to the similarities between the current Situation with Massimo being banned by the FL and how Cellino may feel like the management team are like the cheeky but weedy kid at making faces at you whilst standing behind his dad who is a teacher.
If he is as neurotic as you say (and i think he is too), then this course of extreme action R.E Thompson may seem understandable.

" And suddenly there was not only Salerno at training - who Redfearn always got on well with - but his 'assistant' as well, a young man named Andrea.
The 23-year-old Frenchman first came to the attention of the Cellinos when he was working in a furniture shop in Miami. Mrs Cellino came in as a customer and was impressed by how polite this young man was, and by the fact that he spoke a number of languages.
Soon he was brought over to the club in an intern capacity, initially working in the club shop and then assisting Salerno, acting as his interpreter. He was given a modest wage and put up in a flat in the city.
Other staff understandably became bemused when he started to turn up in the boardroom for matches though. And at meetings. And at the Thorp Arch training ground, where he would ask questions and occasionally voice opinions.
Staff at Elland Road soon started to nickname him 'the spy' - and it stuck.
This is all perhaps something of an aside, although it adds to the slightly surreal picture at the club. "

This must be him. It's all a bit weird.

Sol - if this wasn't Leeds United, I would assume the profile was a spoof. The boy appears to have no relevant experience to match his job title. Maybe his dad is a mate of Cellino and he is on a glorified jolly/work experience. How Redfern has managed to lift the team away from relegation is a miracle. I admire his ability to manage in a mad house. A shame he has now been undermined and will doubtless be leaving at the end of the season.

These anti-Cellino guys are the lowest of the low.
They love the look of their own text so much that they can't stop posting drivel.
Most of their statements of fact are either complete lies or nasty exagerations.
They back each other up like meerkats and that is how I think of them.
What will they do if Mega-Money new owners fail to materialise?
I can't see a future for this club with these weasels on the scene(sorry, I meant meerkats) because these characters are like a cancer that needs to be rooted out and exterminated.

Are these nasty lies better or worse than the lies on cellinos tax return?

Nah, it's the pro-Cellino guys that are the problem.
They're like a litter of really cute kittens clawing away at the fabric of the (metaphorical) sofa that is Leeds United Football Club.
We'll never move forward till we rid the club of these bast... (errr I mean really, really cute kittens).
Pure evil.

Are the majority of our fanbase gullible until they cannot ignore the blindingly obvious.
It took an eternity for it to sink in with some, that Bates was an out and out asset stripper. He made millions and only sold up when the gates indicated that the fans had grown wise and we had nothing left to sell.
This bloke, (I'm struggling to even use his name now and I was a fence sitter) is shaping up to be an Italian version of Bates. Everything appears to be what's best for him, as opposed to what's best for the club.
