Yeah, I think the Carrick under pressure thing is something that, much like Chinese whispers has grown into something untrue.

ANY player struggles when pressed. Some are better than others but Carrick is fine. He (far) more often than not is never under pressure because he gets himself into positions where he is in space.

Besides, he is excellent at finding people in space on the occasions he is pressed.

Nah I disagree Robb. I like carrick bug have witnessed first hand his going into a shell when not given space and time. Personally felt I saw it again in the first 10. IG may have escaped people but I saw fellaini drop back for a short time and Blind playing the ball back and to the side just to break the rhythm and settle down after the first goal. This helped carrick get his mojo back and he was really calm and good after that.

Me too. Spent ours on the old 606 defending him when he was being called a crab between 2009 and 2011.

There was a champions league game a few years ago against that team called olleti or something like that and carrack was utterly outstanding. I think he had pretty much a 100% pass rate and he totally dominated the game. I think the sun gave him a 6.

Macca, it is a disgrace how he's been treated over the years, especially by England.

Last week, the sports writer I admire the most, Martin Samuel, wrote a piece slating Carrick.

Was quite dispiriting to read it. Especially when he says he blew his chance against Ecuador when he was by far and away England's best player.
