Derby County 4 - 0 Blackpool

Once more, into the dark abyss which is a football match.

Will we win? nobody knows. Will we, sorry, they, boo?....more than likely, is that fair? who knows...

Derby go into a game with autos out of the question but with a place in the play offs beckoning. 16 other teams in the division would give their right and left knacker for that.

I don't know who will play tonight - see 2W's article below - but on paper we should walk it, on form we will struggle, the first 10 minutes we should slaughter them.

Blackpool, already relegated - a sad decline - a football situation once again out the hands of the Blackpool faithful and created by a knobhead.

Please cheer the lads on and team news to follow from Mojaca (he promised.... )

Don't have an issue with Ince not celebrating, he used to play for them and probably still has friends there. If it was an ex-Derby player (Poom ) scoring against us, we would be pleased if he behaved the same.
Think the team are OK together, it is just a lack of confidence affecting all. Bound to be niggles between individuals given the pressure, but to be fair, and Brentford and silly mistakes aside, they have been playing OKish, certainly better than a side with a divided dressing room. Beating Blackpool doesn't prove a whole lot, but drawing or losing to them would have, so at least that has been avoided.

Midfield three of Hughes, Hendrick Dawkins. Bent on own up front, Martin on bench as hamstring still not right. Wide men Ince and A.N.Other. Defence the same.

Decent win against a poor team but 666 and Spart would probably have looked an assured centre-back pairing last night. It is very late in the day to have a back four that hasn't played together before but Whitbread and Warnock at least seemed to communicate very well - I could hear most of it from my seat. One good performance and result on Saturday and that could be us safely in the play-offs. It isn't all we wanted but we just have to look at it as a good opportunity to go up.

I don't think we can take anything about how the team will play after last night. Blackpool were dire and their goalie, who played in front of Mad Frankie at Bristol, was at fault for Bryson's goal. That team wouldn't have looked as good against a decent team. Dawkins did well but no one was on him. Same with Shotton, suddenly he looks like Stanley Matthews running down the right wing.

MILF, surely you wouldn't leave Hughes out, would you???!!!

Well I'm not leaving Dawks out, he played the 'Hughes role' better than Hughes normally does last night.

I'll bring Hughes on after 20 mins when we're 2-0 down.

You ought to apply for the Forest job.

I thought you weren't allowed to apply for that if you knew anything about football?

I think Dawkins and Bent should start, I think Huddersfield are still playing 4-4-2 so Dawkins would have the space again between the lines (in theory) and Bent could stretch the game like SM was talking about.

If you are going to demand that your squad players perform when they get their chance and then drop them it's not a good look, plus we get to see how far that team can take us. Keeps Bent and Dawks and Bryson on their toes to.
