Ticket prices !!!!

I see Mr Robinson has released the entry prices for next season and as expected there is a realistic increase.

The price to stand on the terrace is £19 or £17 if you pre book your ticket. My early bird season ticket in the north stand was £255 which saves a lot of money over the season.

The new rate for the north stand is £323 and that's not to be sniffed at as it works out at £14.04 a match a very nice saving.

Whats your thoughts guys on the price increase. ???

It will still be one of the cheapest days out in League 1.
Some League 2 clubs will charge more then our new ticket prices.
It is about time we made some money from the away fans. Some League 1 clubs will bring a 1000 + on a regular basis on a Saturday match day.
We have had a price freeze for a few years , but we are now in League 1 and it's time for this club to move to the next level.

You are right JFWqwerty, some league 2 clubs will charge more next season. As someone who goes away, you and I both know that they already do.

It always annoyed me immensely that we charged so little. When we go away we invariably get fleeced for £20 - £22. The fans of those clubs paid £15 at our place. Presumably this meant the clubs could invest more in players, pay them higher salaries and attract players because of the wages - which was to our detriment on the playing side. Or is it a simplistic view? Some might say 200 fans spending an extra £5 doesn't amount to much.

If you don't agree with the above, how about the point of principle?

I also discovered at some places that it was cheaper or the same to stand on the halfway line with a great view of game as it was to be stuck behind the goal in the designated away fans area.

I am fully supportive of the ticket prices. However, I might be moaning before too long that the league 1 clubs charge £23 - £25 for me to get in when I discover to my dismay that everything is relative.

Still on the subject of tickets, I was in the club shop today. Apparently tickets for Saturday are selling very well. Best not left until the last minute to avoid disappointment.
