Its an improvement

There seem to be a lot of negativity about todays result but I felt it showed an improvement on results we have had against them in recent years. The fact they came and parked the bus with no real intent and celebrated the bore draw like it was a win shows that we have moved forward since last year.

I know we rarely looked likely to score as well, but did have chances. I also felt the ref became more lenient towards them as the game went on. Compare the challenges by the likes of Ivanovic in the first half which went unpunished compared to the three late cards we got. They could have got a couple of soft penalties and he booked Cesc for the dive though so could have been a LOT worse.

All in all I felt it was a good performance and result, if not an entertaining one.

Improvement?
You needed to win.

How's that then?

we need a striker.....a goal scorer who knows how to threaten the goal
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who? dont come up with Higuain and Benzema. Both not creating anything on their own. Both are big game bottlers.

Wenger is paid £8m a season to find the right player.

Do you think there is a need gt?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yes I think so, J99. The market of really good striker and I mean striker who are really an improvement and not the ones who get overhyped in the media are rare and not available.

Really stunned by the negative response.

This was a far more mature and fearless performance by us today that matched with all our games against the teams around us this year do strongly suggest we have turned a corner.

Just feel like we are no longer significantly worse than Chelsea, United and City which I haven't felt in five years. Manager and players have improved.

Fact of the matter is beating a Mourinho team that doesn't care about scoring is nearly impossible. No shame in a nil nil really.

I think we look far more savvy in these games and the players don't look like they are playing with a load of mental baggage, partly because alot of the players are not playing with a load of mental baggage. Half of that team today were not around during the really crap times.

Players are making us improve:

Ospina - calmer than Szczesny and as good at shot stopping.

Bellerin - getting better week by week. I think he may have nicked first choice after today's performance.

Coquelin - what can I say, he put in a nearly faultless perfomance today. Silly booking early and I think one missed pass. Look the bizz today. Seriously he might be considered one of the most improved players in the PL this year, maybe even more so that Harry Kane considering how nearly all Arsenal fans wouldn't have bat an eyelid if he was sold in the summer (Spurs fans love em were creaming about Kane last year despite not really doing anything)

Ozil - his first proper fearless performance against Chelsea today, simply looked fitter and better on the ball. Not a perfect performance by any means but he is seriously important to our fluidity at the moment.

Alexis - a real big game player who strikes fear into opposition. Ibramovich was scared of him today.

Plus we have the improvements of Giroud, Monreal and Ramsey. The latter two I thought were excellent today.

Just simple as this I think we actually scare Mourinho now which we just didn't even six months ago. Big improvement for me, and despite not winning today I still think we have laid a huge marker for a title challenge next season with how we have performed overall in 2015.

We have indeed improved. In order to be better it is difficult to know what to do. Maybe an Aguero or Suarez calibre striker would have done the trick.

To make the answer more Arsenal like, shall we say, to not just settle for top four yet again

But we were never in the title race

To win the league you have to find a way. Thats the whole point. We have always been a top 4 team in Wenger's tenure. That doesn't make us bad. It makes us good. But we are no near challenging. And 0-0 draw when Chelsea wanted to draw? I try to be an optimist but I don't see whats good abt it!

If we had really dominated Chelsea and created chances but somehow they had defended to a draw would have been positive. But we were completely unbalanced today. We didn't create anything but half chances. Not because Chelsea were defending very well. We expected them to defend. It was on us to open them up and take the initiative. And we didn't. Thats disappointing.

Sorry but nobody dominates Chelsea, and of course we can challenge them. Closer to any other team in the league may I add. If we did not have such a bad start to the season we would probably be ahead or equal.

Actually they do. You dominate a team by out doing them in possession and boxing them in their own half. And they offered that. But we played with 5 no.10s. No width, no pace beyond them, no willing runners till the subs very late on. Thats when Mourinho reacted and brought on Zouma because Terry/Cahill lack pace and Walcott, Alexis and Welbeck started running at them with Ozil picking out the passes.

Spurs pretty much executed a perfect game plan against them.
