We didn't trouble chelsea at all really. We got ourselves into good positions and then we didn't know what to do. For all the creative players we have they sure didn't know how to create any clear cut chances. Some people would argue that they were organised and very good defensively. However I think defensively we were as organised as well. They just had the players to open us up. Or at least they had more of an impact.
Chelsea were better than us overall imo because they were more threatening offensively. When on the attack it felt to me like they could score while in contrast arsenal I felt Chelsea had it covered.
Don't get me wrong this was a much improved performance to our previous games vs Chelsea and we have improved against the big teams. However I still think there are signs of the fear factor that lurks within us when facing them. I think we are still very much able to suffer an embarrassing loss to them. We are still showing signs of naivety in these games.
Ozil disappointed me today. He didn't seem on form, he has improved dramatically but today's performance seemed to rewind himself back pre injury. Where he would misplace a load of his passes, disrupt and slow down our attacks. There were several times in our match where he should have formed a counter attack, ran with the ball and pressure the opposition. Instead he walked with it for 20 seconds and then gave it back to Chelsea.
Alexis started brightly but then got worse as the game went on.
Our defence and Coquelin was solid though. I think they proved the difference between us in this game and the one in October,
Ramsey on the wing doesn't work for me. He constantly moved to the centre meaning Bellerin had to protect the whole right side.
Welbeck had a positive impact and showed why he should have started. This Chelsea team is organised and is something being shouted out by other gooners as to why we didn't create much. However they have a weakness. Shove a bit of pace and they don't like it. Welbeck opened up the defence not long after coming on, for me when playing Chelsea, you need your most offensive and quickest players in attack.
Wenger I still want gone. I wanted him gone today, yesterday, post January, when the season started, last season and half of 12/13. I have wanted him gone for over two years now you get the picture. I have not changed my opinion despite our good form so no I'm not fickle (otherwise you need to look it up in the dictionary).
Wenger has again showed he is tactically inept. He doesn't know how to win these games vs mourinho. Even the big games he did win was apparently cause the arsenal team wanted a different approach. I think we embarrass ourselves when we compare whinger to mourinho. Jose is on another level to him. I know it, the Chelsea fans know it, the tv pundits knows it and even mourinho knows it. Mourinho wouldn't say it but he knows he's on a different class to wenger.
I respect wenger for what he has done for our club and trust me I know he has done a lot. But our seasons could just be out on repeat under him now. There is no sign of proactive change. The emergence of Coquelin playing dm was only cause he was forced to and that's cause he's a reactionary manager. We need fresh blood who can take this great team wenger has formed and make it better. Give us fresh ideas and a new philosophy. I'm ready and i think arsenal is definitely ready for a change in manager, last season presented wenger with the opportunity to leave on a high by finally ending the drought and he didn't take it. This year offers him the chance to do it again (if we win the cup). Time for wenger to break his rule of not leaving during a contract period.
If he doesn't leave we will continue seeing our team fight for fourth, performing extremely average in games such as today and only reacting to certain events when it's too late.
Thanks for the memories Arsene but it's time to say goodbye.

Not really true, we used to sell our players and buy cheap replacements and win nothing and now it's the opposite... so we have progressed a lot and will again next season.
Total bullhooey how is it opposite you buy expensive now true sell expensive not true win stuff absolutely not so the only thing to change is now your trying to buy trophies and cant even get that right, but hey defending is easy so try buying some defenders. Attacking aint all that hard either after all Chelsea have carp attackers apparantly and play only not to lose and yet only Man city have outscored them this season. Strange really how this football malarky is so easy yet Arsenal cant figure it out.

The fact you have the players to play attacking football (thanks to Romans millions) but you choose to play like Stoke under Pulis, makes it worse.
I thought these boring defensive tactics were what got Mourinho sacked in the first place??

We are very good at defending but I thought considering we were playing away at a title rival who fancy themselves with the ball we were well balanced, we created the best chances through the game.

If Wenger gets 2nd and the fa cup then how can that mean he is finished?Your entitlement culture means you somehow think our squad is on a par with Real madrid and Barcelona. They are the only two clubs i can think of who would think 2nd and a domstic cup would be a sackable offence.

All ive said that after 9 years of finishing 4th with wenger ive asked for some progress. a proper title challenge. to actually challenge the champions elect to more than 1 shot on target in our home stadium.

2nd and fa cup would be a great achievement but do i think next season we will be close to the title under wenger. No i think we will be fighting for 4th again.
Do i think under a younger manager with fresh ideas we will be in with a greater chance of challenging chelsea? Yes i do but it depends which manager.
