The Brewers in League 2 - part 7

Otherwise engaged last evening, so a slightly delayed update, which takes me to half way in my list.

At 70 is Gary Alexander. 7 starts and 4 subs at the end of last season.Dropped to the South East Counties League with Greenwich Borough.

69. 7 starts and 7 subs for Adam Drury. Highly rated Man City youngster. Seaon long loan at St Mirren this year, though curtailed in January.

68. Kevin Amankwaah. 8 starts. Now with Sutton United in the Conference South

67. Callum Driver. Loaned from West Ham but had the misfortune to make his 8 starts during the winless run that led to Pesch's dismissal at which point he was recalled by Mrs Pesch! 1 goal and 1 yellow. Now with Dartford.

66. David Gray. 8 starts, 6 subs, 2 yellows. Now with Hibernian in the Scottish Championship.

65.This is my new entry with a bullet. How we moaned when we read that we had signed a dutch third division player. How we groaned when it dawned that there were only two professional leagues in the Netherlands. But let's all eat our hats, kilts and humble pie and admit that Abdenasser El Khayati has been the find of the season. 9 starts, 9 subs, 3 goals. More please!

64. Rene Howe. 10 starts, 7 subs, 2 goals. A shadow of the Torquay striker that had produced one of the most memorable individual performances by a visitor to the Pirelli. Shipped off early to Newport where he fared little better. Have to say that my perspective has changed when researching this piece having discovered that he has stepped away from the game to care for his seriously ill wife.So easy to forget that our Saturday afternoon heroes are husbands, fathers, sons and brothers with the same distractions and worries that can make all of us less effective at our jobs.

63. James Collins. 11 starts, 1 sub, 1 yellow, 5 goals. The first on my list to reach that milestone which earns an extra stat. His five strikes came at a rate of one every 189 minutes, which makes him the fourth most potent of our strikers. Back at Shrewsbury, who of course pinched his signature just when we thought he was about to sign for us.

62. Danny Blanchett. 11 starts, 5 subs, 2 yellows.Never a fan's favourite is one way of putting it. Havant & Waterlooville at the end of 2014, though not able to trace any further.

61. Zeli Ismael. 11 starts, 6 subs, including Wembley, 3 goals, 1 yellow. Season long loan at Notts County ended with injury and a return to Wolves.

28 goals amongst the next ten means more 'hotshot' stats.

Lots of what might have beens in the latest update Steve.

- Gary Alexander. I expected a lot from him but it didn't work out.

- Adam Drury. With a Man City label I expected more.

- James Collins. Wish we had signed him back then.

- I am surprised to read Amankwaah is playing at that level. I thought he was a good player.

- We might have been in League 1 already if Zeli had stayed fit for us and we hadn't taken Rob Lainton on loan.

- Blanchett. He looked unfit, disinterested and inept.
