Moving into the top half of the list now.
At 60, Lewis Young. 11 starts and 11 subs. 1 yellow. Flashes of talent but always looked too slight for the rigours of League Two. Has moved around a bit, with last season spent at League One Crawley Town.
59. Sam Winnall. 12 starts and 7 subs on loan from Wolves. 7 goals at a very sprightly rate of one every 169 minutes, which is bettered by only one other. Also picked up 1 red. 9 goals in 32 games for League One Barnsley last term, including a hat trick in the First Round of the F A Cup that was slightly less pleasurable for us!
58. Jordan Pickford. 13 starts in a stop start sequence of loan periods at the start of last season. 1 yellow. Started this season on loan at Bradford City
57. Tom Naylor. 13 starts and 4 subs at the end of last season. 1 yellow. Mulling over an offer if the press boys have got it right.
56. Another loan keeper. Rob Lainton came in from Bury towards the end of last season and made 14 starts.
55. Darragh Lenihan. Gary Rowett's last signing, though it was Jimmy that took to him and gave him most pitch time. 15 starts and 2 subs enough for a medal. 3 yellows and the equaliser at Portsmouth. Recalled by Blackburn for whom he went straight on to the bench for an F A Cup quarter final at Anfield (on the weekend when he could have been playing for us at Hartlepool!). Didn't get on, but has since made his Championship debut.
54. Matt Paterson. 16 starts and 18 subs. 7 goals and 1 yellow. His goals came at one every 197 minutes, putting him fifth in terms of speed. Scored 20 for Gosport Borough in the Conference South in the season just ended.
53. Jacob Blyth. 17 starts and 10 subs in two loan spells. 5 goals. All last season, all away from home. 338 minutes between them. Picked up 5 yellows. Heading back to Leicester City.
52. Callum McFadzean. 18 starts and 3 subs in 2 spells. 2 goals, 1 yellow. Ankle injury forced him back to Sheffield United.
51. The fourth of today's five goal hotshots. Steve Kabba. 19 starts, 5 subs. 6 goals at one every 277 minutes, making him our 9th most potent striker. No longer playing, he is now an agent and personal fitness trainer. 5 yellows.

The Brewers in League 2 - part 8

- Lewis Young. Absolute garbage. How he got a game in League 1 is beyond me. Crawley got relegated though so maybe there is a link.
- Sam Winnall. Brewers legend for me. Kept us in the league in that grim season.
- Jordan Pickford and Rob Lainton - Two absolutely atrocious goalkeepers.
- Tom Naylor and Darragh Lenihan - Both excellent loan signings.
