Looks like Chesterfield are going down next year
"HITC Sport understands former Wolves and Doncaster Rovers boss Dean Saunders is in the frame to replace Paul Cook at Chesterfield."

Appointed Meath, now the manager of Chesterfield, good luck to him.

Crawley's relegation means Saunders has now suffered relegation in three of the last four seasons. He was in charge when Doncaster were relegated from the Championship in 2012 and suffered the same fate with Wolves the following year (BBC Sport)

Good luck to Deano. A few rovers fans have short memories what he did a couple of seasons ago to build a championship winning squad. That Pratt we now have would have 2 on his cv if he didn't bale at Oldham.

I see Wabarras rejecting a new contract wth us.... GOOD! Let's start getting rid of the dead wood, our gain some unfortunate clubs loss!

If you take the period from the beginning of this year when Saunders took over Crawley, his results were better than relegation form. If you compare Crawley's results with those of our own Dear Leader from February to the end of the season, they are better and with considerably less resources.

Have you listened to the DFP podcast round table discussion (Part 1) with Paul Goodwin, Liam Holden and other local media people? That's interesting; they suggest (critically) that Dickov may have tried to get the team to play at the same intensity as he did which obviously did not suit them all. Keegan, Furman and Butler were singled out for special praise with a number of players who got numerous games like Main, Bywater, Stevens, McCullough and Wabara not even mentioned; nor was Copps. Bennett, Forrester and Wellens got moderately favourable comments, but Razak was seen as unsuitable. Furman's absence on international calls and Keegan's injury was seen as factors for the poor run-in.

Welcome back, welcome back and thrice welcome back, Donaldo. You have been sorely missed on here, and once again you bring up salient points.

Saunders came to us when we were in a desperate position, he had to put up with the so called
" experiment". The following season he cobbled together a promotion side which he was unable to take up as a Championship side felt he could help them. However, Wolves were in as much trouble as we had been and again he was on a loser.

Along comes Crawley who have a poor record, close to the end of the season with a sick manager and going nowhere but down. Again Saunders was asked to do an impossible job which he almost did, so I am expecting far more next season at Chesterfield.

Of the two, I would prefer Saunders over Dickov, but we don't make the decisions and the powers that do seem to prefer Dickov to anyone. We shall wait and see how that pans out.

Once again Donaldo, nice to have you back.

Deano had a lot less to work with than DickOff.

Going to put a bet on he resigns before Christmas as he'll have a full pre season to work with ( no excuse now )and let's see who he brings in that'll " push us on to the top ".
