Sitting in the Anfield Road end, as I sometimes do, you get used to the mewling, spiteful cbants of away fans, who barely bother to support their own team, and instead spend all game whining at the opposition and trying to make the case that they should be more famous than the Kop, because they make a lot of noise away from home (though it’s often a mewling noise).
But I never noticed any of that at the weekend. Palace fans were loud, but they expended the effort on supporting their own team. There was a bit of banter, of course, but that’s all it was: it wasn’t spiteful, and the tribute to Gerrard at the end was a piece of class that shone out , because it came across as genuine footballing appreciation.
Obviously it’s easier to do if you’re winning, but I think the Palace fans who attended the game at Anfield deserve a round of applause for being proper football fans

Thanks for the kind words along with some other posts here
We're not perfect but I wish a few more took our stance tbh. Enjoy the game, share some good banter but get behind your own team as much as you can.
