Chasing the money

How does Snodgrass feel now? With Norwich relegated last year, he jumped ship to another precariously positioned Premier League team in Hull City.

His other ex LUFC mates stayed put and focused on getting back to the Prem at the first attempt.

After one game, Snodgrass picks up a season long injury and has to watch his new team slide back to the Championship.

Meanwhile Norwich appear to be on the verge of promotion back to the top flight, winning 2-0 at half time in the Play Off Final.

What a horrendous decision.

Welcome back to the Second Division Robert.

Snodgrass was in the final year of his contract when we got promoted. Bates repeated the usual BS about "seriously good players coming in" in the close season. Snoddy was reported as saying he'd heard that for 3 years in a row. Johnson, Kilkenny and Beckford were allowed to walk away free and then schmeichel and Gradel were sold, followed by Howson. That doesn't sound like Snodgrass ruining the team to me.

Like I said, more than one season, he made it clear a couple off seasons running if the club didn't show any ambition he'd walk!..

He did himself proud staying as long as he did with promise after promise from Mr two face season after season!..

Like others have said, all the best to Snodders wherever he ends up and hopefully fit and playing to his best!.

Just a thought, but wouldn't it be nice if our current players received the same adulation as those that jumped ship.

If they play as well and give good service like the players who got sold, am sure they will.

Batty calls it right for me. Bates sold anything that wasn't nailed down, even 3 years catering income (which caused Cellino to open the ground later cause he could save money on stewarding). I digress, but what sums Bates up best of all for me, apparently, Schmichel was due a much improved contract after holding down a regular place (a clause in his existing contract), Bates solution was to circulate his name as being available for transfer. Another example of Bates pocket taking preference to the needs of the team. Ist class shirt front that only sold the club because the fans had wised up.

Which of the players discussed on this thread jumped ship Eric? By the time Bates, GFH and Warnock had finished, there were precious few left to admire, then Cellino disposed of McCormack and Smith. Who among the 15 "highly rated" Seria B rejects do you think would be adored by the Leeds fans?

Like Johnson and Howson wouldn't have left Norwich too if they had teams interested in them.

Snodgrass was their best player when they went down, which is why he was the one to get a transfer.

How can you know that? Neither of them asked for a move from ER. Johnson's contract ended and Bates didn't seem to be willing to offer him an improved contract. Howson's removal revealed an interesting insight. I was watching LUTV, which used to have cameras running at ER from lunchtime on match days. Lorimer was uttering the usual pro Bates propaganda then passed the mike to the injured Ben Parker, who stated that Howson didn't want to leave, but was told he didn't have a choice. Lorimer grabbed the mike back, but the damage was done.

Snodgrass was a valued player and did well, very well, in the prem all things considered. When Norwich went down he got offered the chance to stay in there with Hull. Not sure what he's done wrong?!?!? Good luck to the lad and I hope he recovers soon. He served our club well and would still be with us I suspect had the club showed ambition and professionalism in terms of investment in the playing side.

The fact Hull have gone down I suspect is partly due to him being injured. They struggled to score, and young Robert would have chipped in with a few over the season I suspect, as well as setting a few up.

Suspect he'll stay at Hull next season, fitness permitting, and will build himself up again in the same league as us............... hope so anyway. Be a shame if his injury is that serious.
