Some of us were lucky enough to have watched Don's sides. He had players that would run through brick walls for him. RIP Don.

True legend.
If we achieve half of what Mr Revie did for this club in the next ten years I'll be a happy chappie.

Amazing period of success with the Don. Gave me my long lasting memories of pride and achievement in my home town club.
RIP the great Don.

We've had a couple of good managers since Don Revie, but none have come close yet.
The manager / coach who emulates the Don is going to have to be one super freak of a manager / coach; I don't think he's been born yet and there ain't none in prem either.
I watched many games when the Don was running things, then the army bekond, it was a case of watching Leeds on telly and reading the results one day late, but the excitement and passion never waned.
I remember a few fans on here saying Grayson can be the next Don Revie, yeah right.
R.I.P Don Revie, the greatest manager Leeds United have had to date....

Cellino would have fired him after 10 weeks

2020. He would have had to fight a full squad of home internationals to fire Don Revie. And nobody would have messed with that lot. Don was their mentor.

I sometimes wonder what some of our finest and most respected posters would have posted on this site, had it been around when he arrived...?
Untried, untested, superstitious, hiring gypsies to remove curses, wearing the same coat, wandering up streets and round traffic lights ...???
One fellow would have posted forty seven threads prior to him getting off the bus...!!

I have posted to that effect in the past, Eric
Its well known that successful players make bad managers....... erm..... erm
You can also have fun criticising the 19060's team as well, a la 606
Has if Hunter could ever be what we need, with only one leg
Mick Jones = carthorse
Sniffer = lazy
Paul Reaney - can't cross the ball
Bremner = too small
and
Gary Sprake... erm, well......
