I wonder………………………….........................

.................................................................................................………………………………if Pearson knows he is the equivalent of an acidity-sensitive piece of paper.

I said he was the litmus test of whether this new approach had the legs to survive the interesting behaviour of one individual

Now there is so much scope for interpretation and conjecture. Lovely!

Did Pearson offer Head the recruitment job and draw up the contract?

Did Head have a frank discussion about the holiday, agree with Pearson it could still stand, or was Pearson as surprised as MC by it all? Does Pearson agree with MC on tearing up the draft contract?

How will Pearson react now?

If he agrees with the decision we will just see him continue, and maybe say something publicly making clear he has not been distanced from MC by this little soap opera

If he does not agree with MC, how he reacts depends on his motivation for the job. People have suggested several:

A – he always wanted to work with Leeds and this was the opportunity. He genuinely thought he could help MC and LUFC

B – he needed the money (somehow doubt this, given the little I know about him, and the fact he gave up the role with Sheffield to come here)

C – he is really a Trojan horse coming in to work out how to make a bid for LUFC with/without other investors

D – there are investors at an advanced stage, MC is expecting to sell, the investors want Pearson there to ensure a smooth transition, and to ensure the business is developing as they want it to, ready for when the takeover is finalised

I can see endless opportunity to read the tea leaves, as Pearson decides to stay/decides to leave abruptly/make public pronouncements which can be (over)interpreted in various directions. What delight!

All I know is Pearson-watching will be fun for the forseeable.

If only it had been as fascinating on the pitch as off it

Storm in a tea cup. If Head is the man for Pearson then I suspect we might see a little u-turn in the not too distant future.

U-turn?
Would Cellino's ego allow for that?

Even it did, you can't mess people about by offering them a job, withdrawing the offer, then offering it again and expect them to play along with it.

He may, but it'd be understandable if he declined.

Oh I agree - in itself

But as a part of a continuing pattern of unwelcome publicity and seemingly erratic behaviour by the club, rather important

Also rather important if, as it appears, this is Pearson's choice being rejected

In any case, there's little else to be interested in at the moment. I find it fascinating

I vote for D.

I'd like it to be D. I suspect its a more prosaic A. Please let me be wrong
