Morning Wood

So, it looks increasingly likely that Chris Wood will be joining us, Radio Leeds reporting fee between £2.5-£3m

Still deliberating over whether or not this is a good deal. He's scored goals in this league, is 23 and surely fits the big and powerful bill.

Having read what opinions from Ipswich fans and Leicester fans I have to say im not 100% convinced. They seem to be unable to actually clarify what he's really good at.

Hope he does well for us though, obviously 2.5m is a fair amount of money for us to be spending on one player, the small budget seems slightly bigger now.

What you guys thinking on it?

I actually think Wolves will do okay this season, primarily because you've a good manager.

As JLA lets see where our teams both sit in 10 months - hope you like looking up ............

Wolves had the momentum last season. I think they might struggle this season, I reckon they'll start badly, finish mid table and Jackett won't last the season.

i wouldn't argue with your assessment eric
we've a heck of a job replacing sako who scored 16 and 18 assists last season
mid to lower table for us

I think Wolves will be better than that. Jackett is a good manager and will survive the season (unless they're rooted to the foot of the table - and they won't be).

Next season is going to be yet another incredibly tough campaign for all. Bring it on ...............

Hi LIW, Leeds Rich et al. Infrequent commentator but avid reader of posts on this site. Can I ask all you'se guys what your take on Cellino is now? I myself have been left frustrated at the antics of last season and the poor perormances, but recent events ie possible transfers is changing my attitude a bit. He did shift a mountain of debt and now seems to be taking the team seriously. Looking at the team (including Wood) still seems a bit short on quality. The pluses are Silvestri Byram? Mowatt, Bamba, Cook 5 out of 11. How short are we to being promotion chasers? and also is Cellino doing enough to placate the fans (still no ground purchase). Also is Jonty still around?

hi mate,

I certainly am not in a position to change my mind on Cellino.

I havent changed my mind regarding what he wants;promotion.

What I will be is fair, but we haven't kicked a ball yet and there is still constant worries that the good work could be blown up at any moment.

Saying this; so far so good.

-Adding structure and British footballing know how in both the backroom and playing departments is a big plus.

-he seems to of laid off the micromanaging.

-very close to spending the biggest transfer fee on a player since nick barmby in 2004.

-hasn't sold any of the youngsters

I'm always slightly optimisic at this point of the season but that is usually due to being desperate for it to return.

I'm happy right now, but know Cellino can shaft us at any given point.

WHITE TILL I DIE

He's so naughty he's not welcome at Leeds

(well in certain quarters!!)

Some of us like him, he's bonkers without a doubt, but he's a character. We have some that don't like characters.

He's come in and done a fair bit behind the scenes, mostly documented on here, some like it some don't.

Last season he saw we were lacking in many parts of the pitch and went out and bought from bargain stores to change from an elderly unfit for purpose squad to a younger leaner squad, but not a team, a bit hurried. This summer he looks to me as though he's tinkering and molding that into a team, with the help of Adam Pearson, they're creating a balance which we've lacked.

We still need width.

We need to keep Mowatt, Cook, Byram etc and build
