Will we lose Lennon to Leicester?

Nigel Pearson is sacked by Leicester. Lennon will be a favourite and I would take it if I was him. There's nothing appealing about Bolton currently. It just gets better.

Guus nudging 70 has gone off the boil of late bit risky that one isn't it.

Oh wait
The local rag in Leicester is back on the Lennon story tonight.

Personally I think this is paper talk and not much more. For one thing there are some very big name managers out there not working right now who could be approached without having to pay compensation.

For another Leicester's board will want someone to keep them in the top flight and will in all likelihood look for a manager with existing Premier League experience. Both Sam Allardyce and Harry Redknapp are currently out of work and available to name but two. Then there's the guy who managed Watford, got them promoted and was promptly relieved of duty.

In all honesty I think what's happened here is a local journalist has thought of lennon as a candidate thanks to his existing connection to them as a former player and probably asked the club. They in all likelihood replied "no decision has been made yet" or "no comment" and he's taken it to mean Lennon's on their shortlist already. The story's spiralled from there.

I agree they may go for Premier League experience. However, Lennon is a proven winner and has more trophies to go with an equally big reputation. Add that to his history with the club being a crowd pleaser after the Pearson train wreck. He is a strong contender and one they will consider.

Nah not just paper talk
Local non news in local rags doesn't make syndication and publication in the nationals and the odds he's showing at the bookies if there is nowt in the story.

For me it's Lennon, Sam, Cotterill or Gus
Out from that personally I would drop Guss for his recent form and lack of recent experience of managing in the prem at what is one of the weaker teams seeing Guus before Xmas on Merseyside is more likely. Cotterill done great but has a way to go before he is ready for a club in the top league expecting a fight on the lower reaches.

Leaving Sam and Neil - Can they convince Sam to return so soon maybe not or ?. Neil the easy fit ticking the boxes.

Straight choice for me
Let the fight commence or somebody to tip off the journo's Neil's dentist is still on the corner of Filbert St he never moved as he great faith in the dental doctor.

Hiddink is the 4/5 favourite with Skybet, 1/2 with William Hill and 4/7 with Ladbrokes as of 9.00 am.

Odds don't get that short unless the bookies know something as a general rule of thumb.

I think Cotterill's likely ridiculous. There would be a revolt if that were to happen. Hiddink's odds have gone short because of many reports that we've made a move for him. Whether he'd want it and whether we could come to a mutual agreement are yet to be seen though. Allardyce I can't see it for a number of reasons. If pushed, I'd say that Lennon is still slim favourite.

Lennon was at the Atherton vs Bolton XI game today and sat watching our youngsters on the bench with Ian Brunskill (U21 boss, who was in charge).

As was Jussi Jaaskelainen, but I think that was more because his son William was in nets for the second half.
