Looks like it is confirmed Clyne has signed for 12.5 million.

It is young but i would say 24 is when you should start realising your potential and producing on the field.

He seems to have started to do that, having attracted the interest of United and then Liverpool, who he signed for and broke into the English national side.

if say 11 goals in that burnley side is a great start and coming into a much better Liverpool team it will give him chance to realise his potential!

If only it was as easy as that...
We probably thought the same about Lambert with that thinking.

Do people realise he's 24. Not that young tbh. Hopefully he does well

Defenders tend to take a bit longer to start fulfilling potential it seems, probably because so much of the role is about discipline and positioning relative to fellow defenders. Attackers can be a bit more instinctive so have an impact at an earlier age.
24 years old seems about right to me, same age as when Rio joined Utd. Ready for the first team but could be a starting RB for the next decade. Perfect.

Lambert was badly misused by Rodgers. Same as trying to play Balotelli as a lone striker really....

As for Clyne. I wanted us to sign him when Southampton did. Great price really considering the "English Tax" in place. I wonder how much he would have been if he was French with only 1yr left on his contract?

Bored with clyne talk, let's get a striker in

Of all the players you've signed since Sturridge, he's the best and best value for money IMO. A very good right back, young and fast, English and he can get better.

What started out as a spate of pretty underwhelming signings, now has the beginnings of a very above average squad taking shape.
Gotta applaud Liverpool's hierarchy on their current transfer strategy. As a United fan I will admit the only player Liverpool have signed that I would even entertain the notion of at United is Clyne (perhaps Firminio is the price was lower), it doesn't stop it from being impressive from Liverpools point of view.

Are there any Reds who don't like the signing of Clyne?
I never expected him to sign for us but he's definitely a player that we needed. Hopefully he will continue to show last season's form for us and also that Lovren will display the form that got him to Liverpool in the first place.
Now Can should be able to play in midfield and have a greater impact
