Early days but.....

......isn't it good to see some optimism around the club?

Good management infrastructure in place.

Plenty of youngsters signing professional contracts/extensions.

New signings.

Money being spent.

New kit.

Commercial revenues in place.

Suddenly last season looks like it might just have been "work in progress"....

Funny how the drearies can always put a reasoned view point based on factual events and the cheeries first action as always is to abuse or talk gibberish.

You think the squad from the season before didn't need changing do you, just tinkering was required...?

I don't agree, I think massive changes were needed. I am glad he did what he did.

Are you saying that he should have kept it as it was and just carried on...?

Because I don't, I think he did the right thing. There were loan players brought here with a view to them staying, they haven't made the grade, they've gone Cani, Adryan, Benedicic, that's what I mean by newbies coming and departing, a great number of you and your fellow drearies said we were going to be lumbered with them...? Didn't happen did it...?

Going by the comments I've heard recently Uwe Rosler appears to be happy with the majority of the squad (whilst wanting additions in positions where we're light) and he's attempting to move on some others that were here before Massimo Cellino arrived. I hope he succeeds in that aim.

Are you saying Massimo Cellino didn't say last season that he was looking for promotion in two seasons time...?

I think he did actually say that.

Is the optimism nothing to do with anything Massimo Cellino has done, is doing or has allowed....?

Why do you try to portray your opinion as fact...?

I don't, the comments I make are my opinion. You disagree with my opinion. That is a fact.

I can live with it.

On a separate point, do you really consider this comment

"Oh dear, I must depart to a snow covered mountain and thrash myself with birch twigs because Kebab disagrees with me....!!"

to be abuse...?

Really...?

Good to see both sides of the divide coming together!

We shouldn't confuse humour/sarcasm with abuse......

No, just gibberish. I was generalising about the normal method of cheeries replies which were often abusive last season. This wasn't aimed at any individual.

The squad the season before needed tinkering yes, and that in my opinion is the way forwards for any side.

Squads develop season on season. Wholesale changes rarely work. You do what you can with the finances and bring in 3-4 players that are very likely to be better than then ones you have already. To improve the chances of player success you bring in players who have performed before at the level you require eg players who have been promoted from this division. Players who have excellent injury records.

Had this been done last close season with some of the McCormack money personally I think we could have made the top ten. With further tinkering now we should be challenging the playoffs, and then with another close season hopefully one is good enough for promotion. Year on year steady progress.

I don't think many drearies felt we would be lumbered with loan players because they were rubbish. A total waste of the loan market and I have made my views strongly on this subject before. I do remember drearies being extremely worried by us signing serie b players on 3-4 year deals and they are the ones we are lumbered with. Some with huge transfer fees, awful business unless a new coach can get something better from them.

Again that's your opinion.

I accept your opinion.

It doesn't alter mine.
