The transformation of TJ Dillashaw.

The rise of the current bantamweight champion has been one that not many expected. His predecessor was a man who was undefeated in 30 fights before eventually falling to Dillashaws sword. But how has the man that nobody really talked about gone from obscurity to Super stardom in such a short period of time?

I first saw TJ on the TUF series between bisping and miller(A bloody good series) and as he made his way through the show I noticed how efficient he was in his wins. He eventually lost to Dodson in the finale but I never would have expected him to be as good as he is now. He always had good wrestling and he was never a all guns blazing type of fighter but his striking improved massively after the TUF finale. He suddenly strung some good wins together and shocked me and i'm sure a lot of fans when he finished Barao in there first fight. His striking was unbelievable in that fight. He was faster, crisper and so much more stronger than Barao not to mention he was landing punches that bolstered power. His striking is now so elusive and very difficult to read and coupled with his disciplined approach he seems to have all he needs to sit on top of the Bantamweight division for a while. TJ himself has praised his striking coach Duane Ludwig but what do you think? Was TJ always destined for this type of level of performance or can his coach really be the catalyst for this stunning transformation we have seen?

Thoughts?

He is smart, his ability to attack from angles in addition to his footwork and movement when standing directly in front of opponents...they cant hit him when he stands in front of them

I cannot see anyone beating him now. Not for a while. Like I said...too damn good.

I remember on TUF when TJ was actually picking all of the easy fights just to get through. He's improved massively and Renan Barao has been mentally beaten by TJ. It's weird how far Renan has fallen, was undefeated in nearly 10 years and then get's a loss against TJ. Not the same man since, he's too big for the division too, needs to move up a weight class. The weight cut is too hard for him, effecting him on fight night, hasn't got the stamina to go 5 hard rounds.

Dominick Cruz: "T.J. Dillashaw is nothing but a wannabe and I look forward to going out there and proving that I am the best in the world."
