Sad situation for Rudy

Looks like new FA rules are preventing Rudy Austin from working (and staying) in the UK.

In a way I'm glad he's not going to be playing against us now, but it's a shame he has to uproot his family on a (new) technicality. Especially as his son was born here.

Real shame and wished we still had him.

When you look at all the reprobates that we have coming over, it's sad

Rudy showed loyalty to stay at the club in January and help us in, what was at that time, a relegation battle. It is extremely wrong that Cellino didn't show loyalty in return and, in the end, has cost Rudy a career in England, a place where his son was born and he was 2 years away from gaining citizenship.

Agree with you, Pro

On the face of it, treat very badly. Not convinced he was what we need, but could have let him go and secure his future last Jan.

Sorry to upset the apple cart here, but in all fairness I shouldn't think Massimo Cellino had an inkling that Rudy wouldn't get a place at another club.

It isn't Massimo Cellino's fault that Jamaica aren't in the top 50, it isn't his fault that a deal that was on the table in March with Bolton fell through because of financial problems at Bolton and it certainly isn't Massimo Cellino's fault that the agent or the player didn't get the work permit sorted out earlier...!

Utter folly to leave matters until such a late date. Especially where you are already in negotiations with a professional football club. Surely when the ball started rolling this would have been one of the earliest questions from one side or the other...?

Perhaps the agent ought to do his job properly or Rudy ought to try a different agent...?

That said I do accept it's a sorry state of affairs for the family man.

Am pretty sure you would be able to get a work permit until you has a job, so not sure how you get a work permit sorted before then !!
