Any one for Francesco Pisano?

The BN has a story linking us with Francesco Pisano, a full back who played for Cagliari in the Italian Serie A. It may however be mis-information as the club has denied that he is on Lennon's radar.

I suppose we won't know one way or the other for a little time yet.

Here is the story.

WANDERERS are closing in on the signing of Italian full-back Francesco Pisano.

It is understood that the club is currently in talks with the 29-year-old, who played in Serie A for Cagliari last season but is now available on a free transfer.

Neil Lennon is expected to sign one right-back in Lawrie Wilson over the next few days – but like the former Charlton man, Pisano is comfortable pushing forward as a wing-back, or into midfield.

A former Italy Under-21 international, Pisano has spent his entire career in Sardinia, making more than 250 appearances in all competitions and more than 200 in the Italian top flight.

Stories in the Italian press have linked Wanderers with a deal for ex-Parma striker Massimo Coda but The Bolton News understands he is not currently being considered by the club.

I don't know.
Is it a conspiracy to try and keep peckers up ?
Every time I read the surname Pisano I see this image of an advert set in some Mediterranean country a couple drinking a posh drink (Pisano) at sunset with the town square lit up looking so in love sat in the bistro facing the Pisano statue as the background music softly plays some Pisano or is it really a little chocolate on the pillow in the hotel.

Would I want it on the back of my shirt when walking down the prom. No its in the BN the paper known for its in depth investigations of all iffy goings on at BWFC. Come on the BN we want to know why we didn't make the top six of the worst run clubs. Was it we had no money to overspend with or was it a cover up using the biscuit funds.

very good Pasty.

We were told yesterday that Pistano wasn't being considered. Well today that has all changed.

Here is the latest offering from Billies Weekly Liar.

WANDERERS are speaking with experienced Italian defender Francesco Pisano about a move to the Macron Stadium.

The Bolton News understands a deal is currently being discussed with the 29-year-old full-back, who played in Serie A for Cagliari last season and is now available on a free transfer.

Reports in the Italian press claim QPR have also looked into signing ex-Italy Under-21 international Pisano, who boasts more than 250 appearances for the Sicilian club.

But while sources at Wanderers insist no contract has yet been finalised, Neil Lennon is now looking a firm favourite to bring him to English football after 11 years at the Stadio Sant’Elia.

Cagliari were relegated from the top division last season, with Pisano featuring 14 times in league and cup competitions.

The defender has been unlucky with injury in recent years, breaking both his leg and his foot on separate occasions. Nevertheless, he was offered a new deal to stay on after relegation, and his impending departure has made national news.

Wanderers fans have been waiting anxiously for confirmation on three other contracts this week, as Emile Heskey, Lawrie Wilson and Stephen Dobbie wait to be officially confirmed.

Lennon hinted that one more signing could be on the cards, presumably Pisano, but his arrival is not thought to affect that of ex-Charlton Athletic man Wilson, who could turn out against his former club in a friendly at the Macron tonight.

But it could mean another player leaves the Macron soon, with Lennon confirming on Tuesday night that he is “right on the cusp” of his wage budget and looking to cut it further before the end of the transfer window.

If a deal goes through, Pisano join a small selection of Italians who have played for Wanderers, including Enzo Gambaro, Emanuele Morini and Gaetano Giallanza.

Reports in Italy also linked Wanderers with another free agent in former Parma striker Massimo Coda, but it is understood he is not currently a target.

Meanwhile, Wanderers’ trip to local rivals Preston North End has been moved to an evening kick-off for live television coverage.

The October 31 Championship clash at Deepdale will now start at 6pm after being selected by Sky Sports.

It will be the first meeting between the two sides in 14 years, the last being the 3-0 play-off final victory at Cardiff in May 2001.

Today's article is just the same as yesterday, just put differently. Wilson, dobbie and heskey still not confirmed. Why? A week and a day until the season starts and as it stands we have one senior goalkeeper, no right back and only one striker. Oh and the goalkeeper coach has not been replaced yet. I remember it like this in the 80s and things gradually got better and better but i can't see any hope this time.

I'd think we're hanging off signing Heskey, Wilson, and Dobbie till 3rd August so that we didn't have to pay them July's wage. A similar situation to the signings at the start of the transfer window.

Does anyone know what's happening to Andy Kellett
And Oscar Thelkard.

Threlkeld is injured and Lennon does not rate kellett. Anyone going tonight? Think it will be a last minute decision for me. Should be free for season ticket holders.

Benny thanks for the info 👍.

I bet Pisano never wears our shirt. This is another one of those "we tried to get him but his wages/fee were just out of our reach" situations.

Like a lot of our other targets. Morgan to wigan, Maguire to Rotherham, enrich to sd eibar not going to happen.
