When we need to do full text regex/like operations it is tough. Currently working on moving databases to new SSD servers in Luxembourg.

Always a dilemma, especially when you throw scalability into the equation. Hope the migration goes well

We use in memory object stores for the common case content, for example the ten most recent comments on currently active articles. Try to keep database heavy stuff to a minimum. The my members page is particularly painfully in what it needs to do. Hence why the been had expiry on articles.
