The Let Down Called Giroud

Over the past 3 years it has been blatantly obvious to the smarter supporters such as myself that Giroud was NEVER EVER going to be good enough to lead our line whilst we seek major honours.

Many people debated and demanded for me to give him time before later on deciding to side with me bar the really confused few left. As much as I dislike his presence in the side, never have I hated him the way I do Flamini/Mertesacker for very strong reasons and I've always given him credit for his desire on the pitch.

What is now very annoying is that he seems to have lost that too making him utterly pathetic. Ever since Thierry blasted him with some hard hitting truths he seems to have accepted it and stopped trying so hard to prove the critics wrong, despite Wenger's strange relentless faith in him.

Some will ask if we can blame him given the stick he receives but yes we certainly can. He has to remember how fortunate he is that he's lasted as the main man at #9 for us this long despite the supporters being used to quality like Henry, RVP, Wrighty etc..

He also received a ridiculously unjustified raise which is another reason why he should be working harder than he currently is. Honestly watching him let us down on a weekly basis is one thing but he now has the cheek to stroll around and put a lack of effort in whilst doing more and more talking off the field about the spot he believes belongs to him???

We couldn't replace him with a better CF soon enough and once we do that people will be in absolute shock as to how much better off we are and how he's held our potential back for so long. The same way people were satisfied with Theo as our goalscoring winger until Alexis showed what true elite level of goalscoring is (nothing against Theo).

Giroud hopefully sitting on the bench all season-long will make him realise how good he had it and why he never got to work on his composure, finishing and movement to give himself a better chance of convincing the world he was good enough. Hopefully dropped next week

He'd start for you.

I do have my reservations over him, though, I must admit. The fitness is the main worry.

*He'd start for you.

Then join Wilshere in the treatment room.

He wouldn't start. A prime Zidane wouldn't get in ahead of Wenger's golden child Ramsey.

That aside, Cazorla is a better CM than Schwein imo.

But you've got Aaron Ramsey starting for you.

Past it Schweinsteiger is still an upgrade on the Welshmen.

Yes he is, Ramsey is a headless chicken.

Chris, yeah may be right. I like Cazorla in cm, shame it looks like he'll be getting facked about. At least until your injury crisis where he's then given a settled role.

Yes he is, Ramsey is a headless chicken.

That's true....Let us talk again by the end of this season about Schweini again.

You can't blame Giroud blame wenger for buying him and sticking with him it's not Giroud fault.

Ramsey's a clown but miles better than Schwein.
Wtf has this debate turned into? Wouldn't want Bastian anywhere near our side he does absolutely nothing for us.

He's an ageing box-to-box player wtf is his use to us?

Agree with most parts of Number 4's comments though

Our spine is very weak and Giroud & Merts are the main reasons for that.

I don't know if Gabriel and Kos will work but at least there's an internal solution there and Gabriel is certainly a warrior, I hope he succeeds.

With Giroud we'll need something from the outside, even tho Theo & Welbz are options they're not convincing, if they hit form and became undroppable Wenger would simply shunt them wide to accommodate Giroud.

Giroud needs to be completely benched and replaced full-time just like what RVP did to Chamakh when he got fit, neither are the type of players we should be starting

DM role is very awkward atm it's really all about the duo in the deep position.

If Wenger is going to give in to Ramsey's demands and play him central then unfortunately Coquelin will need to be upgraded on as we need someone to build play neither of the 2 can do so.

If Coquelin remains a fixture in the team which at present is justified then we have to go back to Cazorla there even though he's not the ideal deep-lying playmaker he technically improves that area miles more than Ramsey and his ability to turn out of tricky situations keeps our play ticking. Long term Jack could take over.

Finding someone that can provide Coquelin's defensive contributions as well as being a lot better technically is vital for us if Ramsey's to play centrally.

Best hope is that Coquelin's distribution improves massively but that's too big an ask so sudden he's no tempo dictator and probs never will be
