Evening
Having just read that a Spurs player who I don't particularly rate has been linked with a move away from Spurs this summer, it got me thinking that surely we're not the only club with players that fans would like to see the back of, although at Tottenham we seem to specialise at holding onto them
The players currently fulfilling the role of lingering surplus for me are:
Adebayor - He wasn't welcome in the first place, he's certainly not welcome 4 years later. Nothing to do with the Arsenal links either. Just a money-grabbing, workshy lanky streak of who needs to take the hint and fack off. Mercenary of the highest order, yet somehow suckered Levy into a deal
Townsend - Arjen Robben wannabe. Thinks he's in the playground or some fantasy where he must get the ball in his own half, run with his head down, take the whole team on, cut in and shoot.... Where the reality is that on the odd occasion he manages to avoid the blind alleys he loves to run into and makes it near the box, his wayward shots hit some poor kid in the top tier of the stand.... then the opponent take their throw-in. Can barely get the basics right yet thinks he's a world-beater
Dembele - Had a good game for Fulham at Old Trafford in 2012 which he's lived off ever since - until he played well vs Chelsea on New Years Day which is now used in his defence, and apparently renders the rest of his useless 3 years at Spurs as null and void. He's strong and can hold onto the ball I'm told; so can Akinfenwa but I don't want him at my club either. Dembele is Ray Wilkins with a pirouette ffs - take a hike.
Question is, which players at your clubs would you be so happy to get shot of that you'd drag them to the airport yourself?
Admins could you put this on the United, Arsenal and Liverpool board please? Cheers son.
Drive 'em to the airport!!!

Well Rodgers doesnt fancy him thats for sure and he'll be gone soon enough, his biggest downfall for me was he was too one footed, I know alot of players are but he would reach with his left when his right would be the right pass/interception/block etc He would also hold onto the ball too long which you've already pointed out.
With Bentekke ip front i think he would have been worth a go but what do i know

Fack all, you think Mignolet is decent!

Mignolet has been nothing short of excellent since he was dropped for his poor form. His kicking is a weakness and put under pressure on many occasions but it has always been difficult with a team of smurfs.
Things are much improved in that respect with Benteke to kick to.
I'd have all of last seasons top five ahead of him but none that finished below us. He's still young and I'm sure will improve further.

I really am surprised by some of the names wanted out on here, none more than Evans and Young. The latter has just had a fantastic season, and Johnny Evans is one of the best of your defenders. That really does surprise me.
LFC? None really. With the new intakes, players who were there have slipped down the pecking order, but that doesn't mean to say they are bad players and I want them out.

Young did not have a fantastic season, he was mediocre, which is better than the dross he has sered up in his time with us.
and evans is flat out garbage.

The only keeper I would take outright over Mig is DDG.
The fact he has the most clean sheets in 2015 with our defence in front of him speaks volumes!! especially considering some of the defensive calamities of last season
Courtois is good, and rightly replaced cech, but has less clean sheets with a far superior defence ahead of him.
Cech has looked poor and out of practice for 2 of the 3 games this season so far and has rightly replaced ospina

This
Also our style of football in terms of playing out from the back has been tweaked. No longer do we see the split CB's with Mig rolling the ball out to feet, every single time
This has been a welcome change. Opposition managers cottoned on to this tactic instructing their team to push up and pressurize. This resulted in the ball being played back to Mignolet who was under pressure to kick it first time which is a definite weakness in his game
Now more often than not Mignolet kicks in long from his hands towards Benteke. His kicking from hand is adequate, his kicking off the deck is not.
He's a good shot stopper, so with the change of tactic he looks much more secure. As long as he continues to be brave and come for balls in the air, then I am happy with him.

Stretty, Young did have a fantastic season. He was arguably our best player for large chunks of the season. Certainly his best season in a United shirt. There are many other players I'd see gone before him.
Evans looked good alongside Rio or Vidic. Since they left, he has looked distinctly average, and certainly behind Jones/Rojo/McNair/Smalling

Not read all the replies but seen some stuff on Mignolet on page one.
We have the most clean sheets in 2015 but....
Our keeper is rubbish, Lovren is rubbish, Skrtel suspect and Rodgers can't coach a defence?
Really?
Anyway I'd have rid of Balo because he is a nobber who does not use his skill set, Borini because he is not very good at things that involve the actual football, Enrique because he is fat and at a push, replacement needed, Joe Allen. I would genuinely rather play Brannagan.
