Alexis Alejandro Sanchez

He is the new Cesc, blameless no matter how much he messes up. Don't get me wrong I love the guy and I think he is the sort of player Chelsea desperately need to become a complete team, but in this Arsenal team, and the way we play, at times he is a liability.

I know the above point will be dismissed by most as a ridiculous suggestion but if you look at the way we play at times he is the weak link. In all the games he has played this season he has missed the sort of chances Giroud would be crucified for, still loses posession and fails to pick the right pass.

Granted his passing game is much better than last season but he can still do better in my opinion. I honestly feel the guy is still playing in 2nd gear. He is still trying to find the balance between being explosive & simplifying his game to get maximum outputs. I honestly think he can easily score 30+ goals every season and have at least 10 assists if he learns to time his runs better, read his team mates better & simplifying his game in general.

I remember when Viera used to say that in his latter career him & Henry learnt a lot from Bergkemp as to how to vary the pace of their game & simplify it to maximum effect.

Another example is in the way Ox dribbles as compared to Hazard. Ox is a competent dribbler, one of the best in the league, but loses the ball or runs into blind alleys as he doesn't vary or change his pace in his dribbles hence becomes predictable. Hazard has since become better at that, the master is obviously Messi who knows when to slow down then scoot past the opponent once he comes to a halt.

Its those kind of subtleties that Sanchez doesn't have in his game that prevent him from being a more destructive player.

He gets too much criticism. Everyone knows his passing is sloppy and that he comes central too often. Nobody is perfect. He is still our best and most effective player in terms of work rate, dribbling, goals and assists

Who you gonna call when you have 8 players passing the ball sideways a metre outside the box?
Sanchez that's who. He will draw fouls, free up space for teammates, and even have a long-distance pop at goal. Two such players fluidly switching between either flank, would be massive for us.

He has always looked better as part of a front two or even on the right. We should be the masters of the counter with him and ozil. I struggle to see what style Wenger wants this team to play.

Agree!
He has been breath of fresh air and has massive skill, he carried the whole team for half a season. He tries the harder things so he is going to give the ball away more, it's not like he is a midfielder.

Do we now blaming one of our best players?

When we are not winning, Giroud is to blame.

Alexis missed pre season yet when you watch him he's the one getting at the end of chances or creating havoc. It's not coming off but he's by far our most dangerous player. Sure he's weakness is passing and all other things you've mentioned. But for me other players have to step up too. Namely Ramsey and Özil

Typical cycle here.

1. Drop points 2. Arsene out 3. Inquiry into all the players with tye conclusion that they are all not good enough 4. Win game 5. Arsene in 6. Players a, b, c, d... x, y, z are all world class

Repeat

10-man counter attacks like we had back in the day.

Thanks for the heads up. 10 months of football ahead, but at least we'll know what to expect from you.
