Sky Pundits

Do they now follow a certain script they are given by the programme producer or are they allowed to simply be themselves? What do their contracts say? I say that because as ex pros some of the things Neville, Carragher and even Henry say about particular players are unecessarily harsh and way over the top.

A lot of the comments seem personal and even Wenger has touched on the subject aswell. Carragher is one of my favourite ex liverpool players, always a model pro but since he started working for sky he says the most daft things particularly his character assasination of Raheem Sterling.

Neville is widely considered the best pundit and his insight into the game is quite good (nothing amazing in my opinion) but he is also one of those that likes to bash certain players mercilessly. I was never a fan of ratboy so I cant say what he does on Tv amazes me but as a former player and someone who aspires to be a manager one day the little faith he has in certain players is shocking. Its actually the thing that derailed Roy Keanes managerial career.

We know Neville's pet hates, David Luiz who is thankfully gone as I got tired of hearing Neville moan about him all game,Ozil e.t.c Most of the players he simply dislikes them due to their attitude or demeanor on the pitch. Fair enough but how it relates to their ability on the football pitch becomes exaggerated.

Wenger has touched on this with regards to his criticism of Coquelin simply because he is not big or tall as Viera. The Coq still has the best numbers particularly in interceptions and was again very good against liverpool but because he is not as big and imposing as mangala he gets bashed. How does he improve on that? I would also love Coq to be a big imposing unit but he is not, at least he does his job.

Too much obsession with us not having physical players and how it prevents us from challenging. A lot of people identify a weakness and they choose the common theme as the reason, a bit like how Ramsey on the right is the weak link when we lose or draw or game when they are other issues preventing us from winning football matches.

I'm sick of ex pros taking apart certain players just to improve their ratings. I think Henry had a go at Giroud because he felt compelled to do so as viewers were complaining about his punditry. Him and Giroud are actually good friends.

So, this article is just a way for you to express that you're butthurt by Neville's expert, and excellent, analysis then?

read up, Neville offers an opinion. If it is excellent is pretty much up to the receiver. now jog on

Stop comparing Coq to Viera. Viera is a once off, you will never see a player like hinm again.Even matic the so called best DM is not even a tenth of what Viera was as a player. He is not even close.

Can I just address this ( and please don't take this as a personal criticism )
Vieira wasn't a holding midfielder for Arsenal. After he left we had one of the orlds best in Gilberto Silva for 3 years, it didn't win us any trophies.
Better comparison would be Matic to Makelele, Petit, Gilberto, Deschamps etc...
Vieira was pure box to box for us. That's why he was ALWAYS paired with a more defensively minded player - like Petit, Edu, Gilberto, even Parlour as wel as Makelele and Deschamps for France.
Just because he liked a tackle doesn't mean he was a " DM "
People seem to have forgotten how and where he actuially played for us since he left.

With a username like that, you should know.
Either way, he may have been a DM on Champ Manager, he wasn't one on the pitch in real life.

Vieira and Keane were box to box. People who say they were holding players or defensive midfielders or whatever are giving away that they're 15 and don't have a Scooby doo what they're talking about.
