Who got pace and can drive forward from midfield.
Who can break quickly with the ball.
Sad thing is we had him, and let him go on a free in the summer
Desperately needing somebody

Letting Austin go was a mistake.

Not sure I agree. First game I've seen this season on Saturday, though, so I'm sure I'll get shouted down.
To me the key thing we were missing was a good playmaker - an accurate passer of the ball who can switch the play and is likely to pick out players making runs up front.
B'ham didn't bother to get near any of our players until we got into their half. It was a clear strategy to play on the counterattack which worked a treat. However, you can't afford to let creative passers play with their heads up or they will punish you. But Leeds haven't got anyone like that.
Furthermore, Leeds were far too narrow, often trying to attack through congested areas. Being able to switch play quickly gives you more space, and enables players with pace to cause real problems. They played with more width following the substitutions in the second half, but were still realtively pedestrian moving the ball intot he wide areas.

Was pulling ya leg, Austin was headless and had no ability to pass or control a game, someone like him is needed though, shoulda gone for Livermore, upgraded Adeyemi, which is why hull are above us

Very good comment and agree Saturday, Austin wouldn't have made a difference.
And totally agree Birmingham tactics were spot on
Am thinking overall we've missed rudy direct running and pace.

Birmingham's tactics were spot on. But we knew their tactics, that shouldn't have been an issue.

Thanks Liw for the link on cannibinoids and I also appreciate your heartfelt comment regarding pain and suffering. It was very kind. Just goes to show there are some really decent people out there. I Asked the doc about it today but they are not allowed to prescribe it in any way shape or form. The spray is available in NHS Wales but not NHS England. Scandalous isn't it? So have to put up with horrendous side effects from opiates, anti-inflammatories etc.. If anyone has any ideas regarding treating chronic back pain successfully I appreciate it. I've tried so many different painkillers over the years and just cannot tolerate side effects. They make you feel really low and you have to keep increasing the dose due to tolerance that develops over time & so the vicious cycle continues, more side effects, withdrawals etc.

Austin often got us out of trouble with that raw speed of his for sure & is sorely missed. May not of set the world on fire but definately took pressure off our defenders. Let's hope what we've got will begin to click asap. Lack of pace still concerns me nevertheless it's time we stepped up to the plate & became more battle hardened & show some bottle. THIS IS WAR!!! As Noel said we're too soft. A leader needs to stake his claim & his troops need to follow suit. We can do this!!!

Not sure myself to be honest without assuming. Uwe discussed the fact that he knew what they'd do before match yet we didn't act upon that. Where does the blame lay? How can we know? We don't know what Uwe has told the players and whether or not they executed what he said correctly.
I can understand why some fans are calling for his head, but I just think we've been through 4 managers now with one common denominator.
