Buckley

It would be typical That Buckley would get called back to Sunderland when the new manager arrives.

He can go back asap as he seems useless like all these loanees we've had over the last 2 years ! - I don't care if Sunderland take him back, why should we take rejects especially fron Sunderland - come on get a grip.

Elando.

Buckley was one of the best players in this division not so long ago. You want to send him back because he didn't have a good debut? In a new team he'd never played with before and trained with maybe twice?

Get a grip.

Maybe the mad Italian can convince Andrea Pirlo to come and boss our midfield for a few games ...

I think people are going a bit over the top.

Buckley's only 25. He was at Sunderland for only 1 season, and he played fairly regularly there. It's not like he's been sat on the sidelines for 2 years. Plus his loan goes right up until January - he's been signed with a view to a permanent transfer.

I think it's harsh to question his attitude. He could have just sat at Sunderland and collected his wage. He's still young and I doubt very much he's set for life. Give him a few games.

Buckley hasn't played competitively for months, so it makes sense to throw him in. Give him some games to shake of the rust, of we use him as we did that striker last year or del fabro then its a waste of money.

Botaka as it stands is his main competition, but remember the lad is the same age as Sam, so still loads to learn. His final product is there as we saw against Boro, but his decision making is rash, which is common for kids, he won't disappoint IMO.

Best

3 year deal at Sunderland 25k a week

Been sold twice for good money, gets 10%

Won't of been on bad money at Brighton.

Unless he's been doing something stupid, he could retire when his contract ends

And am not saying he won't even be good for us.

Just for me there were worrying signs on Saturday.

Is that after tax though?

Mike

Its all just guess work no one really knows

And I might be totally wrong

Just think with the cuts he's had out of transfers, the contract extensions he had at Brighton, the deal to go to Sunderland, bonuses, boot sponsors, etc etc

He'll by end of Sunderland deal, will have cleared some major money

He'll be rich by the end of it, but with house, cars, kids or whatever expenses footballers pay for, I doubt he'd be looking at that and think I've got nothing left to play for.

I just think at 25 years old, it's a bit early to be writing him off as a player whose made his money and doesn't care.
