Imagine being at the hospital with your sick child or elderly parent in an emergency situation just hoping that they get through the next minute.
All of a sudden , out of nowhere heavy bombs are dropped directly onto the hospital , blowing into pieces dozens of innocent people , including children.
And all the murderers of these people have to say is "oops , it was a mistake ... sorry" and of course they get away with it just like that.
And not for the first time either nor unfortunately will it be for the last time.
We all know that these people will not face any war crime charges anytime soon despite wide-spread calls from all around the world.
After all , the war crime tribunal was only established to prosecute third world dictators and anybody else who dare not bow down to "western powers" superiority mentality.
It's bad enough if a wedding is "mistaken" for a terrorists' meeting and innocent people are killed but a hospital? Really? A hospital? The only one in a poor , war-struck remote region?
May those innocent people all rest in peace
Sorry for the rant.

the fact that you keep resorting to ad-hominem attacks is very telling.
Do you deny that there are countries that have the death sentence for apostasy?
You tell me that I cannot dislike the belief without disliking the believer and that its contradictory. I assure you there is no contradiction. My wife believes in heaven and hell yet we can discuss our opposing views without a problem and have done so for over 20 years.
Your book which is claimed to be the perfect word of God is so perfect most ppl in the world would need to learn a new language to understand it. Then you need scholars to tell you the real meaning of talking ants and flying horses.
It's all bs fairy tales.
I can see that my views on your sky God are difficult for you to accept so Wont go any further.

Attacks? Says the man who's first contribution to this thread was to call a religion vile. How did you think a comment like that would be met?
I have called you ignorant, because you are. You literally know close to nothing about Islam but seem to have come to a definitive conclusion about the religion. This doesn't strike you as ridiculous?
I don't deny that countries use capital punishment against people that leave the religion of islam. But what does the authority of a dictator imposed on the people by western governments in post colonialist middle-east have to do with what it says in the Quran or how the Prophet of Islam practised the faith?
Is there a correlation?

Yes to remain incorruptible from others editing it.
There are foreign translations of the Quran that are be being produced by extremists (particularly in Saudi) with subtle differences to make the book extreme.
They are unable to do it with the Arabic version because it has remained unchanged for 1400 years.
"I can see that my views on your sky God are difficult for you to accept so Wont go any further."
You mean false statements without any actual backup?
I couldn't careless what you think, I'm here to give a rebuttal to your misinformation so others might be inspired to actually read a book before being so opinionated.

I can spare a few minutes here and there to stop the spread of misinformation, especially if I'm at work.

are men and women equal in Islam?
What is islam's view on homosexuals?
I have an idea as to the answers but as I don't read Arabic I was hoping you could enlighten me.
As an aside.
You really can't reply without attempting to insult me so far in this discussion, why not try in your response.

The worst thing that I have called you is ignorant, which you are.
Like I said saying that you don't dislike Muslims but consider everything they aspire to be as vile then that is a massive contradiction and I take it as an insult.
Ease down on calling Islam vile until research islam with some degree of sincerity and I will back off calling you ignorant for at least trying to learn. Deal?
Yes of course Muslim men and women are equal, Islam is the fastest growing religion amongst converts in the west the majority being women. That's a clue that Islam isn't a misogynistic religion.
Islam gave women the power to vote.
Divorce.
Sexual rights: a husband being obligated to satisfy his wife before he leaves the bed
The right to work.
Women get to keep all of there earnings and half of her husbands earnings.
The list goes on, keep in mind these laws are 1400 years old and you will see that they are also way ahead of there time.
Words like homosexual, heterosexual and bisexual don't exist in the Quran, it doesn't segregate people based on sexuality.
The Quran forbids secx during menstruation and anal secx which of course isn't just an exclusive sexual act for gay people but is also practised by straight people as well.
Feelings aren't forbidden is Islam, certain actions are.
That being said in Islam nobody is allowed to infringe on what happens in your own home. If a gay couple wish to have secx in there own bedroom thats between them and God and if they don't believe in God why would they care? The same goes for heterosexual couples.

Is sharia Islamic?
Islam is not above question, no ideology is, this is called freedom of speech. Do you think there should be a blasphemy law?
I won't ease off on my criticism of that vile religion whilst sharia is used to abuse people's human rights, so please feel free to continue your ad hominem insults.

Sharia means law.
Yes law is part of Islam.
No there shouldn't be blasphemy laws unless you are spreading hatred. Civilised critisism is welcomed and even the Prophet Muhammad pbuh debated Christians in the first mosque ever built.
Fair enough Sid you have your freedom of speech but stop complaining when I use my right to freedom of speech and call you ignorant and vile. You can't have it both ways.
But don't forget that I was the one that suggested that we stop name calling and it is YOU who has refused.
Are you going to stop asking questions and actually research this stuff your self. So far every assumption you hold about Islam is wrong....

You mistake my pointing out the fallacy of ad hominem as a complaint.
I fully understand that my views won't be welcome to somebody who lives their life believing but make no apology.
As for asking questions, surely that is the first thing that should be done.
I have researched "this stuff" along with other holy books and remain comfortable with my opinion.
Anyway, it is obvious that continuing is pointless so I shall end by wishing you a good night.
