The Ox Setback

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was tipped for the bench on Saturday and seemed certain to play against Zagreb. He is now out until Christmas. ANOTHER 'Setback' ffs.

I certainly don't believe Wilshere is ahead of schedule. He has been behind schedule since 2013.

Anyway, the Coq's out for 2+ months so the question is who we play there? Flamini? Ramsey? ...Chambers?

I'd be inclined to go for Ramsey and say 'Aaron the team needs you to play a different role for 2 months. No forward forays, the title could hinge on it.' I'm not sure Arsene will be so pragmatic.

Its what the Independant reported two hours ago 'while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury and could be out until Christmas'.

I assumed it was from what Arsene said at the presser?

Did he actually say ox will be out until christmas?

I'd be inclined to play ramsey there now, and as you say. Make him be disciplined. He can do a job there, but he has to protect the back 4 and forget bout scoring.

Arteta is pretty much done at this level. He's never even been a DM, and he doesn't have the legs for it, plus he can't play a game without getting injured, I'd definitely have flamini ahead of him in DM. At least he has played DM loads in his career, and he can tackle better. He is also less injury prone. However he like arteta can't cover much ground, which leads to him diving in a bit too much. But if he's not always left too exposed, he might be okay there for a bit. He has also been in decent form recently

I'm wondering if it might be worth playing Ramsey and Flamini together more regular now. Would mean having to drop cazorla, which is a bad thing, but it might cover the defence better in some games

Assumed it had been widely reported. Seems its only this journalist who is claiming it. Odd.

Nah, it hasn't been widely reported.

No surprises if it's true though.

If Coquelin suffers Welbeck type delay in his return( a few days away last season) he wont be back for years

Has chambers ever played the Dm role. I remember him doing it for us in a cl game but can't remember when and who against.

How was pretty dire
