Seriously I bought a laptop 6 weeks ago.
Had researched and took advice for months.
Ended up seeing a half price Lenovo with 90+ reviews.
Bought it on impulse order and collect.
In Argos of all places.
Great machine.

Duke whatever machine you opt for.
Chances are you'll need Word stuff as well.
Microsoft are aggressively punting their 6£ a month rental thing.
Or mega expensive for 3/5 machines etc.
Not needed for a student imo.
Recommend Coastal Software download.
Word, excel PowerPoint etc 45£.
One machine for lifetime.
