OTEP's Predictor League - Colchester

As promised, an update to the predictor league.

Two tough away games and clearly difficult to predict with no correct scores and only one going for a defeat at Bury, and one a win at Wigan.

We have lost a couple of contributors since the break, hope it's not a consequence of my putting the posts up late. A full three days before Saturday and with so few points awarded over the last two games you've lost very little ground.

Good to see Emnez reconnected - still a long way to go so chip in!

Now for the serious stuff. Still no word from Otep. The admin guys at JA606 have tried to reach him by e-mail but have not received a reply.
I have been making some enquiries around the club and its not looking good. Obviously Otep is not his real name so we cannot be certain, but I have been told that a long standing supporter, who was known to be active on social media, believed to include this site, passed away in the summer, at around the time we last heard from him.
Like I say, cannot be certain, so if anyone knows any different, please prove me wrong, but I have been sitting on this for a couple of weeks now and it just feels wrong not to share my fears with you.

For now, I'd like to continue to run the league - as OTEP's predictor league - partly in hope that there is another explanation, and if not then to honour his hard work and dedication in setting it up and running it so brilliantly over the last few seasons.

Will understand if any or all of you think differently and think it more appropriate to retire it now, so please let me know.

It's so good to know that Otep's ok and that is probably why I'm optimistically predicting:-

Brewers 2 - 0 Colchester

Despite the fact that we have the second worst goal scoring record in the league - only Blackpool have scored less - I think that we will win this one easily. 3.0 to the Brewers

The Brewers all the way for this one.
Ok we have a problem scoring goals, but our defence is one mean machine.
we will be to organised for Colchester. If we score first we will go on to win and see the game out.

The Brewers are in a great position and if that sauce starts flowing from the bottle, the possibilities could be frightening.

Brewers 2 -0 Colchester

We need to capitalize on results like winning at Wigan by winning these home games against lower teams. Fortunately I think we will in this case:

Brewers 2 - 0 Colchester

PS. Welcome back OTEP - good to have you back onboard
PPS. I missed the last 2 predictions as I was living it up in Las Vegas. Sadly, did not win my fortune

Well in the doom and gloom of my original post, and the subsequent excitement of Otep's return, I have quite forgotten to add my own prediction!

I see Colchester have sacked their manager this week, so I would say beware of caretakers, but our own experience of being between managers included a 5-0 thumping and as I also read that Colchester have the worst defence in the league I am going to back our boys to finally find their shooting boots.

5-0 to the Brewers!

And just to be clear, I am delighted to count myself as a caretaker manager - of this predictor league. Otep, just say the word when you are settled and have a connection and we'll find a way of handing the data over.
