We are awful

Leaving Chelsea,Arsenal,City,Everton,Spurs,Lpool players out, imo all of the following would get in the United side ! And probably many more... and as for world class players well...Its depressing !

Winaldum, Sissoko, Ritchie, Montero, Paet, Mahrez, Vardy, Shaquiri,
Berahino, Mane, Pelle, Cabaye

Heisenberg - Not sure its ever worth wasting time on you but ...
how has he not addressed the CB situation?
Well we only have a tight defence because he sets us up to be hard to beat, with two holding CM players and this safe sideways and backwards football. And the fact we have the best keeper on the planet.
We need better to go alongside Smalling. Blind look good most of the time but play top quality opposition and he isn't physical or quick enough for CB.
Rojo not even trusted there now and Jones always injured so yes we need a bleeding top quality CB !!

Why do people talk about Mata's athleticism? He scores and sets up goals everywhere he players. Not playing him when struggling to score is mental.

He should be able to find a way to cover a break in the lines considering he uses two deep midfielders anyway.

Mata should have played tonight. He did well at Watford.

Yeah we are so awful we dominate nearly every side we faced this season bar Southampton and Crystal Palace. We just can't finish simple chances. Heck I am starting to think I should become a striker for Man Utd, I would look like Ronaldo and Messi in this team as the amount of easy chances Man Utd create is incredible. Martial Lingard should both be in double figures by now. Rooney has one of the worst strike rates in PL as well.

For all the criticism Welbeck took, Lingard and Rooney this season finishing making Welbeck finishing look like RVN level.

my views are that lvg will leave us in good shape, close to winning the title, and someone then coming in and taking that next step. he was brought in to stabilise the club and take us back to where we used to be. let him finish his project. he had a massive task after what moyes did.

This, to a certain degree. We are in an excellent position in the league, but after the level of investment you could say a generally obtainable decent manager could have pulled that off.

Whereas moyes was never going to be a success, LVG hasn't exactly hit the ground blazing has he, with far less pressure and an improved woodward, not to mention the liberal purse. I believe he would not have done that much better IF directly taken over from SAF.

You've got to factor in the creaking elements of the team, who'd played for so long under fergie and woukd run through mountains for him, the instilled winning desire, the massive shadow fergie cast getting an extra 10-20% out of them.

Any manager coming in would have struggled to continue that. I think people forget/downplay just how good SAF was.

Baz tard the level of investment isn't really enough with personnel leaving. Moyes had a far stronger squad to choose from and struggled.

Moyes had an aeging squad (in terms of some key positions) which SAF forced had nurtured and forced the best from. And that was something I believe only fergie could really do, he had that touch.

Any other manager in his last season would have struggled to do as well. I believe LVG, if as SAF's direct replacement would have struggled, maybe not as badly as moyes, but it wouldn't be pretty.

United got worse as the game wore on tonight and that is a concern and a worry.

However, we did create a few good chances tonight and should really still have won.

BS and MS in the middle isn't a problem for me if they are willing to get forward and influence the game offensively when it is required.

I thought it quite stranger of Robbie Savage criticising Smalling for coming forward as I like to see a centre half do that if nothing is on. Much better than hoofing forward. What I would have changed there though was the CB coming forward as Blind is much better on the ball and Smalling has more pace behind to cover.

The Fellaini sub was a strange one as well as while I have nothing against him I thought that we lost a little control when BS came off and looked a lot more ragged after that.

It'll be difficult in Germany but we do have the quality and it will be interesting to see how LVG approaches a game that he simply must win.

I have given LVG praise for steadying the ship and making us harder to beat but now I feel that he needs to trust the players a little more, give them a little more freedom and not play quite so rigidly. We have the confidence of not conceding much and what a surprise Wolfsburg may have if we came flying out of the blocks against them.

Lastly, I'm not really sure why we didn't go for it in the end as a defeat would not have changed the situation that much compared to the draw.
