We've still hardling seen anything of him yet, so can't say if he's better or not. But would be good if he came on more when we look clueless.

If Botaka isn't impressing in training then he shouldn't be involved. A lot of the players who have got game time under Evans have had to prove that they deserve it, Doukara, Murphy etc.

Evans clearly believes that Carayol offers something worth having, and whilst it isn't a superstar signing these options often come first because they are the easiest to negotiate for. We need more wingers. We have one. We need more pace. This guy has it. We need directness. This guy has it.

He's not a PL player that we've plucked from a first team, but he is an experienced championship player who gives our coach more options,

Loan signings are not building a side.

I'm happy with bridcutt, think he is a great player, but come the summer we will have to start again and look for another player to do what he does.

Same with a winger.

And both of these cost, it's just patching holes, I want some long term thinking for once

Matty is right.

In the summer, Cellino will just add another year to his '2 years' to promotion target that he already added a year to last summer.

"Was a great player a couple of seasons ago but did his cruciate and has never been the same again. Decent enough on his day but he'll never play under Karanka....he just refuses to track back.
..........................................

Evans says the part of Botaka`s game he dislikes is the lack of tracking back...

We saw what Evans saw in training when Wood did that challenge...Truth is If Cellino isnt picking the team, then Evans is persisting with Wood and keeping a bona fide right winger on the periphery amd buying his doppleganger...

Looking at this new guys stats, he hardly lasts much longer than 60 minutes.

“Last weekend, the president and myself firmed up a clear list of intended targets for the January transfer window, including both permanent and loan signings” - Steve Evans

That seems to be what's happening so far, we've got a couple of loan signings in, why not wait until no permanent signings arrive before moaning about us making no permanent signings?

Oh, it's JA606, that's why

Another point springs to mind as well. Do Bridcutt and Carayol seem like Evans' choices or Cellino's choices? I'd say they are Evans' choices, I doubt Cellino had heard of either of them.

Does this suggest the manager is being listened to by Don Cellino? Possibly. Let's hope it continues.

Maybe he's earned some respect with his record since he came in? It's not an outstanding record, but it's not too shabby either. In fact if you believe all the opinions about how bad our players are on this forum you'd have to say Steve Evans is a miracle worker. Isn't he up for manager of the month?

I've got things to be positive about to balance out all this repetitive negativity.
