UFC 196: McGregor vs Diaz fight thread

Due to dos anjos pulling out UFC 196 will now be Mcgregor vs Nate diaz. The build up should be fun. Not expecting much in terms of the fight.

I knew Faber stood no chance. He is just not good enough at championship level.

Glad a legend like Hendo can go out like that.

I still haven't seen the Rockhold Bisping fight. Surprised Bisping won on two weeks notice but even more surprised at the manner in which he done so. What were the odds on him ko'ing Rockhold?

wow. I've jsut finished up watching the main event. Cruz as I expected dominated Faber with his footwork and angles. Faber just isn't good enough at this level. He's one level below the elite. Cruz vs Dillishaw 2? Or Mighty Mouse coming up and facing Cruz in a super fight?

I honestly didn't think Bisping would do it. I'm still in shock. Not only did he do it on short notice he knocked a champion out and this is a fighter who hasn't been known for his punching power. Incredible story though. He's been a veteran and a great ambassador for UK in the UFC and I'm glad after all this time, he captured the title. Rockhold, not sure about you guys but he just looked very flat even as he stepped into the ring. His face looked apprehensive and he fought with his hands down against a technical striker. He mentioned something about being injured in the post fight which Ii don't like to see. I can't get behind Rockhold because his whole demeanour is arrogant. No idea where he goes from here, possible a rematch with Weidman and the winner gets Bisping.

He did say before the fight he was injured with an "MCL tear" but he was called out on it and it was apparently just a sprain

Though my favourite fight was poirier vs green. Always love seeing the cokey ones getting ktfo

Overall a good card

Shame about Faber, as above he is just that tiny bit below that champion level. Hes always got a good chance of finishing a fight but will never hold a belt longer than a few fights

Well done Bisping as well - same as Faber in my opinion just below that level though. So hopes he enjoys his time as champ as it wont last long

What a stinker Thompson vs Macdonald ended up to be. I wasn't expecting a Lawler type war but was hoping for a bit more activity from both men. Thompson ultimately was just too good on his feet and he out struck Rory. The take down attempts from Rory were feeble in my opinion and once again he seemed to have suffered a broken nose.

Thompson vs Lawler/Woodley next
Rory, not sure where he goes. That Lawler fight might have taken something from him, he seemed gun shy against Thompson.
