Selfish Batsmen???

We have had a few articles on here, and some in the press regarding the Indian batsmen being selfish, and going for personnel milestones...

Are they Selfish? Yes
Are they they worst offenders? NO

Below are the average strike rates, by country in their 80's and then in their 90's.

1. West Indies 110.4 (80's) 87.0 (90's) drop of 23.4
2. Pakistan 112.3 (80's) 94.6 (90's) drop of 17.8
3. Bangladesh 105.0 (80's) 89.0 (90's) drop of 16.0
4. INDIA 115.8 (80's) 106.3 (90's) drop of 9.5
5. Zimbabwe 95.2 (80's) 88.3 (90's) drop of 6.8
6. New Zealand 118.0 (80's) 111.8 (90's) drop of 6.1
7. Sri Lanka 103.8 (80's) 100.6 (90's) drop of 3.2
8. England 114.7 (80's) 113.3 (90's) drop of 1.5
9. Australia 110.6 (80's) 111.6 (90's) drop of -1.0
10. South Africa 111.5 (80's) 117.4 (90's) drop of -1.9

The Most selfish batsman in the world is none other than......

Younis Khan 142 (80's) 81 (90's) drop of 61

So in world cricket the only non-selfish batsmen are from South Africa and Australia. Other than that all the other teams have batsmen who look for their personnel milestones.

So, the top 2 teams with the most selfish batsmen are West Indies, followed by Pakistan.. nuff said

Indeed he was, a South African player who cheated..and should be banned for life.

Its funny how a players birth place is important, to you, for these types of cases, but not when it comes to the England team.....then, they are all English.

He played for the Delhi Daredevils?? I few England players have played IPL, whats your point???

The IPL, no doubt it probably has alot of corruption.

However, you seem to be going on about this South African player....and find it important that he was born in India. Is his birthplace important now??

He probably had ties to indian bookmakers because of his background YES..probably close to whats going on in india. and thats alot of corruption in cricket..

So it seems his birthplace is important. You don't seems to recognize him as South African, considering all you are harping on about is his birthplace, the IPL, Indian book makers etc...

You may want to have a chat with the ECB? put in a formal complaint about the amount of non-English players who have represented England

Also - Should Nasser Hussain, Ravi Bopara, Monty Panaser also be investigated, as they probably have the same ties with these book makers??
