Sunday's cup semi - a balanced view

1) Celtic started very well and should have capitalised on their early dominance, and County's defensive weakness, to have gone further ahead before the penalty incident.

2) Although many fans and pundits claim a penalty and a yellow card would have been enough punishment, the rules state red card

3) However, with 75 mins. of the game still to go after the penalty, even a 10-man Celtic should have had the will, the drive, and talent in their squad to rescue the game against an 11-man County.

Even as a blue-nose I would have bet on a 10-man Celtic, to beat an 11-man Ross County in a Hampden cup semi.

I suspect the obvious lack of quality in their side is really what's depressing Celtic fans today, rather than any thoughts of refereeing incompetence, or other familiar excuses.

Agree Smid.....I've never liked sportspeople telling us what they are GOING to do, or what they are confident of doing.....just puts unnecessary pressure on themselves.....think golfer Colin Montgomerie - he was a master at it, and the England football punters when discussing their national team.
