Thats the one in the hunters dream, if not activated she will be collapsed at the bottom of the stairs.

As she is the one who levels you up.

Thats the one in the hunters dream, if not activated she will be collapsed at the bottom of the stairs.

As she is the one who levels you up.

And if you look slightly to your left you'll see a water feature where you can buy and sell items

How do you level up though? Souls?
Bought Equipment but never even crossed my mind that despite slaying tens if not a hundred or so that I hadnt levelled up! Oh dear, this will be a long, long game

The tip I also tell new players as it isnt explained well is that to level up you need 1 "Insight" - this is with the doll in the hunters dream. You can get insight in 3 ways - find it on a body of a dead foe (madmans knowledge), by entering a boss zone, and finally by killing a boss.

I always tell new players to do a suicide run to the first boss area so you can level up as i did waste lots of souls by dying and not being able to farm.

I think for the first 10 hours i couldnt/didnt level up. Learnt how to clear the streets, and even how to kill the cleaver guy. Got to the bridge and totally mauled by the werewolves so ended up going straight across. All the time losing 10s of thousands of souls especially in the sewers!
