On April 10, 1912, the largest ship afloat, the biggest machine ever built entirely by hand the RMS Titanic left Southampton in England on her maiden voyage to New York City in America. The White Star Line had spared no expense in assuring her luxury, her passengers were a mixture of the world's wealthiest basking in the elegance of first class accommodations and immigrants packed into steerage. At 11:30a.m no more passengers can be allowed on and all supplies have been loaded. Then at noon, the Titanic leaves the dock for its maiden voyage. First stop is in Cherbourg, France, where the Titanic arrives at 6:30 p.m. and leaves at 8:10 p.m, heading to Queenstown, Ireland (now known as Cobh).

We can all agree this demonstrates the folly of the common belief that luxury equals security.
