Excellent Start to the Season

Ladies and gentlepeople's apologies for not doing the race threads anymore but so few contribute to the forum and the timings have not been the best. As we move into more suited timezones, I shall start them.

Besides farce that was the new qualifying sessions I have enjoyed the new season especially with the introduction of the 3rd race tyre. It has spiced up the racing completely and allowed for a myriad of strategies with some teams being excellent and the world champions being mediocre at it.

I also like the fact that Hamilton has started the season on the backfoot, if he had started with 3 wins, I think Nico would have been destroyed, so this is good for the championship. Also like the performances from Ferrari and RedBull. By the middle of the season, we could have 6 potential race winning cars which is great for the championship.

I still would like Lewis to win the title but happy for it to be a proper battle, not just him running away with it.

So, hopefully we get more exciting races and a superb championship. Roll on Russia!

Shapeing up well for 2016. Hamilton come back is on the cards imo. But keep an eye out for Mr Riccardo and Red Bull.

You heard it here first folks.

I like it when Hamilton is in hunting mode though. Russia should be an excellent race. They are both very strong there

Lewis has the qualifying edge.
As long as keeps Nico behind in next 5 races (wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility for Lewis to go on to win next 5/6 in a row), brings himself back into contention.

Just saw a Hamilton interview on CNN, look at the headline;

Lewis Hamilton: F1 star says doesn't owe sport anything

Now, watch the interview;

The media are an embarrassment

Mercs have got a problem with their starts, three races in a row now fallen behind.

If they nail them will be pretty much 1-2 every race, Ferrari's still fall considerably short in race pace.

Hamilton had a great start in China, but for the chaos caused by Kvyat which ended up taking out the Ferraris, he would have had a superb race.

Still think he should have started from the pitlane and on the hard tyres, that was a monumental balls up from Mercedes.

Starting in the pitlane eliminates the dangers associated with starting from the back and the time lost can be made up starting with the hards which could have gone at least 10 - 15 more laps than the softs.

Then he could have raced on the softs all through the race with the supersoft used on the last 5- 6 laps.

Mercedes strategists are useless
