So with Tunchev going back to crystal palace for another 3 months and looking to start for Bulgaria against England tonight, do you think hes getting back to his best and maybe, if he stays fit, pushing Bamba and Mills for a starting place in the team, when he returns from his loan spell?
I really rate the guy and I think he would be a great player to have just in case any injurys occur.
Tunchev...

Correct, MG. Loan extended *to* three months, not *by* three months. I wonder if Tunch has noticed what happens on November 5 in England? It's not a good day for a guy to be written off as expendable.

Only saw the highlights but don't forget SSL.
Played a blinder, so he did !

We shouldn't write off SSJ on the basis of a single (admittedly dreadful) error.

And that goes for SSL, too....

I'd replace Mills before Bamba. Bamba has had 2 bad games, 1 decent game and 2 very good games. I haven't seen Mills put in a convincing performance since the Coventry game, he's looked very dodgy overall.

I think Bamba has all the attributes to become a top class defender. One problem is that he's been pushed forward a lot as he can head the ball unlike our fowards.
Mills has been unconvincing. He looks like he should be a good defender, but has composure issues. Is it just me who thinks he looks like he's about to drop his lunch in his knickers when he's got the ball?
I like Tunchev, a lot, but I've just got this feeling that Sven will never give him a chance (ala Fryatt, Hobbs etc.) and move him on as he's not his player.

No I completely agree, he looks very uncomfortable when the ball comes near him and often makes rash attempts to win it when he'd be better off standing his ground.
It's been a very worrying start from him, he looks only to be able to hoo it clear and head it, he's not even a very good tackler.

I still say that Bamba is our best defender as an individual, but the defence is a unit and I'm still to be convinced Bamba's style brings the best out of those around him. We've played Bamba with Mills and Bamba with SSL - I'd just like to see Mills with Tunchev as this might be a very cohesive unit. Perhaps Bamba could make a great holding midfielder???
